So a Season of Miracles was not so miraculous for me.

This story of reincarnation of lost loves seemed intriguing but it really failed to wow me. I found that I just didn't care about the characters, the story or their love. Not even a ghost giving advice could save this one. There is a back story which I wished I had more of and then there is the current day story. In the current day story, a widowed Jewelry designer Jillian Llewellyn, is drawn to a handsome stranger, Robert Marston, the new silent partner at her family's business, Llewellyn Enterprises. To add into the mix someone is trying to murder Jillian. Why? Also, some of the attempts are just plain over the top.

I enjoy a good romance, but I really didn't feel the chemistry. Didn't recall care for Jillian's dead husband giving her new beau advice and wanted to scream at her "When you are in a burning building, save YOURSELF." geez.

Just didn't connect with this story or the characters. I KNOW that Heather Graham has written MUCH better than this.

Fun but forgettable short novel combining historical and contemporary elements. Jillian, a member of the wealthy Llewellyn family and a designer for their jewelry company, has a series of spooky experiences starting on Halloween night and continuing into the holiday season. The new, handsome company hire, Robert Marston, finds himself increasingly drawn to her. As the story proceeds, they find that they are in fact reliving a story that happened four centuries ago during the English Civil War--and that Robert must save Jillian from a terrible fate, as he failed to do hundreds of years ago.

The story was concisely written and moved quickly. The paranormal elements and the idea of reincarnation reminded me of Lois Duncan's paranormal YA books, which I loved as a teen. I appreciated the concept here, but I felt that the character development was lacking--the story is padded with lots of secondary characters with their own poorly developed subplots. I also found the story itself a tad melodramatic--I don't think even the president of the United States has encountered as many assassination attempts as the heroine of this book.

This book was mediocre, but I still plan on reading more by Heather Graham--I have Phantom Evil checked out and I am excited about that one. This particular book was an impulse read for the holidays. I wouldn't really recommend it. It was like a bag of potato chips--fast to eat, but left me feeling unsatisfied afterwards.

This was a fun, fast-paced, emotionally charged romance set during the Christmas season. If you enjoy a story that explores the themes of second chances, redemption, and the power of love to overcome past hurts and betrayals, then this is the book for you.

This book was simply a great read. I would recommend it to anyone. Even though it was published 10 years ago, its setting is current, the characters are down to earth and the plot fab!!!

I read this via NetGalley for a re-release of the novel.

A Season of Miracles follows Jillian Llewellyn, a widowed jewelry designer, as she begins to have strange, but very realistic nightmares. The reader soon finds out that Jillian is remembering a past life, where she once was murdered by being burned at the stake. Her true love had been too late to rescue her from her fate. Now, a new employee at Llewellyn Enterprises, named Robert Marston, has arrived, once he meets Jillian - an instant spark occurs. Dangerous and life-threatening things begin happening to Jillian and Robert is determined to protect Jillian at any cost. They soon realize they are reincarnated souls who were once deeply in love until her death at the hands of another. Robert refuses to let history repeat itself. Who is trying to harm Jillian and why? Could this person be someone in her very own family? Will history repeat itself?

This book was very different from my usual romance reads. I enjoyed it overall, but was left with a sense of being unfulfilled, as the story abruptly ended. The beginning was a little slow as there were a lot of details to cover. The details were covered well, but the ending felt completely rushed. Before I knew it, the story had just ended. It was a lot of build up for very little payout. I wanted more from the ending. I'm left unsure whether or not to recommend this book, while I enjoyed the plot, the ending was just so fast.

The Llewellyn family owns Llewellyn Enterprises - a jewelry and clothing designing company. Patriarch Douglas has outlived his brother and all of their children. His two grandchildren and three great nephews now have important roles in the company. Jillian designs jewelry and is perceived to be the favorite since Douglas has raised her since her parent's early death. Douglas has recently become concerned about Jillian's safety and has hired a friend of her cousin's, Robert Marston, to protect her and to work for the company. Jillian's husband died of cancer a year ago, but he was a good friend, not a love. Robert and Jillian hit it off immediately, but weird things start happening and even though it appears one of her cousins is trying to kill her, she refuses to believe it.

The supernatural is brought in by a tarot card reader on Halloween. Evidently Jillian and Robert were married during the English Revolution and she burned at the stake as a witch, and he was unable to save her. Again they marry secretly and again fire threatens her, but this time he arrives in time and they discover who's really trying to kill her. Interesting, well done combinations of super-natural. Good secondary characters.

A season of miracles does take place around the winter holiday season but it does not play much of a factor in the story. It is a story about a woman, Jillian who came from a wealthy family that lost her husband Milo at a young age. She married him knowing he was not well, and so her feelings for him were not so much of a romantic love, but of a love based on trying to help him and keep him alive. Sadly, money was not the answer and Milo passed away. Milo still plays a role in the story, and Jillian goes on with her life to find out that the life we are living and the people who are in it, are all interconnected in this life and in the past. It was a good book and a quick read. I will definitely seek out other books by this author in the future.

This is a re-release from 2002 under Shannon Drake. I enjoyed this story but you can tell this was the earlier days of Drake/Graham.

I enjoyed the story for the most part. It is a bit different which is what kept me reading it but it was also a bit slow. The middle was what kept my interest. The beginning was slow but I gave it the time it needed. But the end was abrupt. It needed maybe one more chapter but it felt pushed together to hurry the end.

This will not be a story I recommend but it wasn’t a bad read either.

(2001) Graham has a way of mixing the supernatural with the not-supernatural. Robert Marston is hired by Douglas Llewellyn because of a dream, to protect his granddaughter Jillian. The Llewellyn's are well to do, Douglas owns a jewelry making company. Of course, you know sparks and love fly. Mixed in is a real threat to Jillian, a historic burning of a 'witch' story that Jillian & Robert lived hundreds of years before. Add to that her deceased first husband who appears to Robert, but not her. An interesting read which kept this reader guessing until the last few pages.

This book was just so…bland. I found the backstory and its characters MUCH more interesting than the present-day main characters. Honestly, I found the heroine annoying and helpless, and lacking common sense. (How many “coincidental accidents” have to happen before a person gives the warnings she’s being given that someone is intentionally trying to harm her sincere consideration?) I wish I had a dollar for every time the word “miracle” was mentioned. I get it. The books is about “miracles.” I don’t have to be reminded every other paragraph.🙄

Jillian assists her family’s business as a jewelry designer and each member has a stake in the success of the business. Her grandfather has had a dream that Jillian’s life is in danger and hires Robert to protect her during the holidays. This story is about life repeating our mistakes and being reborn until we get it right! Will Jillian and Robert find love this time or make the same mistakes. Loved the intricate, mystery and ties to the holidays.

I thought the book would never end. Just not a good book.

The book was boring. I agree with one other reviewer in that Jillian was annoying. She was just too much of a goody two shoes. There was no chemistry between her and Robert. I think Jillian must have had 9 lives like a cat. How else does someone survive 5 attempts on one's life. That was rather surreal.

Does Daniel actually sleep with Gracie? That was never stated.

Not a good book and a waste of time.

This was a quick fun read although the part where Marston is seeing and having conversations with a ghost was pretty far fetched. While Jillian was the golden child and excelled at everything, the other young people in the family were jealous and the old man in charge of the company was concerned that Jillian might be in danger. Unbeknownst to her, he brings in a new hire specifically to watch out for her. There’s typical family teasing and rivalry along with the holiday season.

luckily, no one suggested that I read this. I picked it up because I was a bit bored, and this was the only adult book in the Little Free Library at the campground I was staying. I was glad when I got home, so I had good reason to put the book down to never finish it. It was sappy, uninspiring, predictable, and poorly written. I got almost 200 pages in and realized that I didn't know who did it, and I didn't care. Did not finish it.

I should have read the back of this book before picking it up at the Library Christmas book sale. It was barely a Christmas book (it was set from Halloween to December). And it had a past lives component to it, which is just not for me.

Not only that, but the mystery dragged out and to be totally honest, I am writing the review a couple of days after finishing it and I don't really remember who did it and I don't even care :(

This was tense and a little slow but had good depth and a little bit of a otherness. I liked the characters and the plot. This was a whodunit with a lot of doubt and crazies. Namely the family. I liked the two stories in one thing and the ending was good. This is something I wouldn't mind reading again, during the season, but not as a go-to. There were emotions, a little suspense, some great white knight moments, a few soulful touching moments, good amounts of faith, and plenty of speculation inferred. I wasn't on the edge of my seat but I did enjoy reading this and wasn't completely surprised by the who. Good for a little suspense and fanciful thought of multiple lives. Enjoy

Jewelry designer Jillian Llewellyn is drawn to a handsome stranger, Robert Marston, the new silent partner at her family's business, Llewellyn Enterprises. When several bizarre accidents begin to happen, Robert begins to believe that someone wants Jillian dead.

I really did not like this book. The back story was hard to follow. There was no chemistry between the hero and heroine. And most of the murder attempts were just to absurd for one person to be able to pull off. Sorry, can't recommend this book. My rating: 1.5 Stars.

Kept thinking this one would get better. Premise and characters were interesting enough, but too many of them made it confusing and some were not fleshed out and seemed wasted. About half way in, kept wondering when it would get more interesting, and it just never really did.
