Cruising by JP Bowie Adam Brenner is looking for a life change... Adam Brenner is looking for a life change when a long-time friend and associate, Tom Hathaway, offers him a position as casino manager aboard The Maid of the Seas, a luxury cruise ship out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Trying to leave behind haunting memories of an alcoholic boyfriend on a path to destruction, Adam succumbs to the Latin charm of Vittorio Borghese, the ship's architect. After a night of hot sex, Adam thinks he might have found the one to help him forget the misery of the past, but Adam soon discovers that life on board a floating resort has its drawbacks to go hand-in-hand with the perks. Dismayed by the hostility shown toward him by the ship's captain, and Vittorio's seeming indifference, Adam finds comfort in the company of Brett Jarvis, a talented singer/guitarist who plays nightly in the ship's lounge bar. The two men quickly form a warm and loving relationship, and Adam starts to look forward to 'a life on the ocean wave', thinking that it will now all be plain sailing. However, he soon discovers that out on the vast regions of the Atlantic, sudden squalls, both natural and man-made, happen all too frequently and some people are definitely not the great guys they appear to be. Maximum Exposure by Jenna Byrnes & Jude Mason A secret pleasure denied could be the end for long time lovers Rob and Max, or will mistrust do it first? Rob Jenkins is worried. The relationship he's been in for six years has become a little stale and not very intimate. He loves Max more than anything, but the man's sexual fetish of 'doing things' in public never interested him. While Max is away at a two-week business conference, Rob concludes that in order to save their relationship, he needs to make some choices. He surprises Max with a weekend visit and the offer to play a 'game'. Will the sexy scenarios be enough, or will they merely expose the flaws in their relationship? Yes! by Kim Dare Can Andrew really spend twelve hours saying no to everything Stephen offers him? It's not going to be easy, when all he wants to say is - Yes! Andrew likes sex. If someone he's attracted to wants to have sex with him, he's not going to say no to them. That's not a character flaw, it's just common sense. Stephen seems to think otherwise. He's sure Andrew is incapable of saying no to a cheap thrill. But, at the same time, he's more than happy to provide Andrew with the prefect opportunity to prove him wrong. Andrew has no doubt that he can say no to everything the younger man offers him for the next twelve hours, and that's all he needs to do to win their bet. He's also quite looking forward to cutting the would-be dominant down to size in the process. Because, while he may be easy when it comes to vanilla encounters, Andrew has high standards when it comes to dominants. There's no way an inexperienced nineteen year old is going to receive his submission. Andrew will obviously find it easy to say no to that. Won't he...? Reader Advisory: This story contains references to light hearted dominance and submission. Sorry Charlie by Ashley Ladd Charlie's dad wants to make up after a seventeen-year family feud... He's overjoyed, excited, and nervous as hell that his father is finally accepting his sexual orientation and speaking to him after a seventeen-year family feud but Charlie can't understand why his long-term partner Jonathan is acting jealous and clingy, when he should be happy for him or at least supportive. Jon's afraid Charlie's family will hurt him again and he doesn't know if he can mend Charlie's heart if it shatters a second time or stand by and watch while Charlie sets himself up for more heartbreak. Heat of the Night by SL Majors Bad boy Stephen Powell has finally met his match in Dakota Youngblood, a sexy Alpha and older man who shows Stephen a thing or two in the heat of a hot summer night. It was supposed to be punishment... Last week he'd been living the high life in Monte Carlo, and now, after yet another brush with trouble, ultimate bad boy Stephen Powell has been banished to Wyoming, which might as well be the middle of nowhere. One Night Stand by Cassandra Gold Can a one-night stand lead to lasting love? Photographer Tom Garner is finally ready to date again after the death of his partner. J.P. Bowie was born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland. He wrote his first (unpublished) novel – a science fiction tale of brawny men and brawnier women that made him a little suspect in the eyes of his family for a while.
Leaving home at age eighteen for the bright lights of London, he found himself in the midst of a “diverse and creative crowd” that eventually led him to the performing arts. For the next twelve years he sang, danced and acted his way around the theatres of London and the provinces, appearing in shows with many famous British singers, actors and comedians.
After immigrating to the US and living for many years in Las Vegas where he worked for that incomparable duo, Siegfried and Roy, J.P. found himself entranced by the fair city of San Diego where he currently lives with his partner, Phil.

Friction is a multi-authored homoerotic anthology. I was happily surprised that I really liked all of the stories in it. Many times in the past, I’ve read other anthologies where there are usually at least two or more stories that I either disliked or it lost my interest. Admittedly, there are some stories I liked better than others, but all of them were interesting and very entertaining short stories.
Cruising by J.P. Bowie
At thirty-one, Adam Brenner is giving himself a fresh start. Since his relationship with his ex-boyfriend has gotten sour, he’s ready for a positive change in his life. When he takes a job to run the casino on a luxury cruise ship, he’s pretty excited about the new job; even if he knows it’s going to take some effort to keep the casino running in ship-shape. Unfortunately for Adam, the night before the ship leaves, his crew has too much fun and misses an important meet and greet with the other crew members and the ship’s captain. To Adam’s chagrin, the captain of the ship is not only the father of the man he just had a hot one nighter with, AND it’s obvious that he’s not impressed with Adam and his lazy “American” casino employees.
Adam soon realizes he’s made a mistake with the captain’s son as soon as he meets a handsome and talented young guitarist named Brett. Brett is sweet and thoughtful and everything that Adam wants in a man. As Adam and Brett start forming an emotional bond together, Brett finds out about Adam’s one night stand the night before they met, and wonders if Adam is just playing him for a fool.
Will Adam be able to convince Brett of his feelings of affection toward him?
Cruising is told in first person with Adam’s point of view. I admit I’m not a fan of first person romance. I like to know what the other main character is thinking, but I thought that Mr. Bowie did an excellent job at portraying at what the other characters were feeling. Adam has to put up with a lot of drama and backstabbing from other characters that work on the cruise ship. I though this made the short story interesting as well. Most importantly, the physical and emotional chemistry between Adam and Brett was delightful, and even though I wasn’t pleased with Adam and his one nighter at the beginning of the book, I ended up liking him and I was glad to see he got the happy ending he deserved.
Maximum Exposure by Jenna Byrnes and Jude Mason
Rob Jenkins has decided to take a chance at something naughty. He and his boyfriend, Max has been together for six years. Even though they are in love, their relationship has been suffering because of Rob’s fear of giving into a sexual fetish that Max has. Rob is determined to keep his relationship with Max healthy and happy…even if that means trying to be open about Max’s fetish of fooling around in public.
When Max is out of town for business, Rob decides that this opportunity to play out some of Max’s fantasies. He surprises Max, and sets out to seduce him and make his fantasies come true.
I thought Rob deciding to give into his more adventurous side of sexual play with Max, even though he felt initially out of his element, rang true to me. Sexual compatibly is important in all relationships, and Rob is smart enough to see that if something didn’t change between he and Max, their relationship would end up being doomed. Both Rob and Max were interesting characters and likeable people. Both men are forced to look at their relationship and make the decision if it is worth fighting for. For a short story, I thought both characters were pretty well rounded and I really enjoyed the love and intense physical chemistry between them.
Yes! By Kim Dare
When he’s offered a good time in bed by a handsome and sexy man, twenty-six year old Andrew Holt, definitely has a hard time saying NO. Andrew’s gained quite a reputation from his promiscuous behavior. He finds out that some men are not impressed by this slutty behavior when he meets the interesting nineteen year old Stephen Phillips. Even though Stephen is younger than Andrew, he has a strong and dominatingly assertive personality that Andrew finds very attractive.
The two men start a discussion/argument over Andrew’s lack of self control. Stephen bets Andrew that he won’t be able to say no to anything Stephen sets out to do to him. Thinking that this is an easy win, Andrew takes that bet and soon realizes his mistake when the more he’s around Stephen the more he desires him and connects with him on a more emotional level. But, when Andrew finally submits to Stephen’s dominate nature will it be enough for them to start a beautiful and loving relationship together?
I really liked the chemistry between Andrew and Stephen. Once again for a short story I really found it easy to like both heroes and root for them to somehow work through their differences of opinion and get together. The cat and mouse game the men played with each other was both very sexy and fun to read! (Stephen feeding Andrew that chocolate cake was just H-O-T!) One of the great things about Ms. Dare’s writing is her snappy dialog and the intense emotional pull the heroes have with one another. This makes her stories both addictive and very enjoyable to read.
Sorry Charlie by Ashley Ladd
Charlie Lang has had an estranged relationship with his father ever since Charlie came out of the closet to him seventeen years ago. Now, suddenly his father wants to mend the broken bridge between them and Charlie is confused but hopefully optimistic. But, Charlie’s partner of fifteen years, Jonathan, does not feel the same way. He’s afraid that Charlie is just setting himself up for a world of hurt again and he doesn’t know what he can do to prevent it.
On top of the stress that Charlie being reunited with is father, they also have to deal with the reality of our failing economy. Jonathan has a bookstore, and it hasn’t been doing so good, so the couple is experiencing some financial problems that is putting a slight strain on their relationship too. Will they be able to work through all the obstacles in their relationship and find the happiness they once had together?
This story was more angsty than I thought it would be. The conflict between Charlie and his family as well as the conflicts between him and Jonathan was very realistically written. I admit that Charlie’s father surprised me, but the rest of the family was horrible. My little gripe about this story is I thought the ending was too abrupt and suddenly way too cozy because of the heavy angst in the story itself. I also had some issues with Charlie, but I did like him. I thought he overlooked Jonathan and his needs and worries a lot. In some ways I thought their relationship was a little one sided, but I did like them and I enjoyed the story.
Heat of the Night by SL Majors
Stephan Powell is used to living life in the fast lane. He’s spoiled and used to living a very wealthy way of life. He’s also a womanizer that has a habit of getting himself into trouble. His Aunt and guardian commands him to spend two weeks in Wyoming with her friend Dakota Youngblood. Not wanting to disappoint his beloved Aunt anymore, he agrees to put up with living in the middle of nowhere so he can pacify her and then get back to living on the edge like he has done in the past.
He wasn’t expecting Dakota Youngblood to be as fascinatingly handsome as he is. Tough, strong, gruff and surprisingly patient, Dakota immediately attracts the younger Stephan. This is surprising to Stephan because he’s never desired being with a man before, but being around Dakota and being touched by Dakota is bringing out hidden desires and strong feelings for another that Stephan has never felt before. Stephan realizes that he wants to be a better man for himself and hopefully for Dakota. But, will the differences in their ages and ways of life breach a wall between them?
WHEW! The chemistry that Stephan and Dakota had together was amazing! I had to turn on my ceiling fan when I read the “lasso” scene and the scene by the lake. *Fans Self* Just thinking about how sexy those two men are together makes me break out in a sweat! Both Stephan and Dakota were interesting characters, and even with the story being a short one, both of their characters evolve into better men.
I love this story and I hated for it to end! I really wish it had been longer. I would have loved to read a full story about them and more of the life they now have together. This is the first book I’ve read by SL Majors and it won’t be the last!
One Night Stand by Cassandra Gold
When Tom Garner’s friends insisted he get out into the dating scene again, Tom wasn’t so sure he was doing the right thing. Since his partner’s death two years ago, Tom knows he’s become somewhat of a hermit by staying at home and running his photography studio. When his well meaning friends take him to a bar, Tom thinks his average looks won’t get him many offers. He’s surprised when a pretty, blonde man approaches him and starts up a conversation.
Ian Abernathy is not looking for love. Scorned by cheating lover months ago, Ian swears he’ll never be hurt or vulnerable to another again. He’s told himself that his love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude has been working for him so far. When he meets the older and handsome Tom at a bar, he hoped to have a night of pleasure with the bigger man. To his delight he and Tom spend a night of unbelievable tenderness and passion. This scares Ian, who can’t leave Tom’s house fast enough; even when he sees the sorrow in Tom’s eyes when he does it.
Now, Ian can’t get Tom off of his mind and unfortunately for both men they keep running into one another. Ian knows he’s made a mistake by allowing his fears take over and pushing Tom away. Will he overcome his fears by taking a chance on Tom and find the true love he’s always secretly wanted? Will Tom be able to forgive Ian and give him and true love a second chance?
Cassandra Gold is one of my favorite authors. I love the fast-paced and easy style of writing that she has. Her heroes are always sexy and intriguing men and there is a sense of realism about them that I really like. They are also people that make mistakes and are very far from perfect. I love them!
I really wish this story had been longer, too! I really loved Ian and Tom’s story. Even though this was a short story, it packed a lot of punch. I appreciated how both Ian and Tom was able to work through their fears and make efforts to change and become not only happier with themselves, but with one another.
Friction was a great anthology and I highly recommend it!
In this collection, Yes! by Kim Dare, Heat of the Night by SL Majors and One Night Stand by Cassandra Gold were all excellent and well worth the price of admission to me. Maximum Exposure was okay, but didn't strike me as powerfully as the three already noted. Cruising and Sorry Charlie? Not so much. I couldn't get into them at all & finished reading neither.
Yes! by Kim Dare (my reason for buying this book, quite frankly) involves an interesting contrast with the BDSM norm -- a bet in which a sought-after sub must tell his devious master no for 12 hours. A man the sub refuses to even recognize as his master, at least at first. Oh my. This one was OUTSTANDING. Kudos to Kim Dare for thinking outside the box.
In Heat of the Night, a bad boy twink is sent by his guardian aunt to a ranch for a two-week stretch of tough love to straighten him out. Hardee har har. Has a definite Gay For You theme going on, but Stephen & Dakota were so wonderful, I forgave it instantly. The womanizing bad boy as a gay virgin entering into an informal D/s relationship intrigued me.
In Cassandra Gold's One Night Stand, a one-off turns into something more. Kind of a vanilla story for me, but a lot of emotional depth here.

This review is ONLY for Cassandra Gold's "One Night Stand"
I think I find another favorite m/m romance author :). I have read several short by Cassandra Gold and I really enjoy them. This one is no exception. The story is sweet and makes me smile. Ian and Tom first meet as a one night stand (because Ian doesn't want to have anything to do with commitment). Then they meet again for the second and third time and Ian realizes that his one-night-stand type of date is unfulfilling and he feels lonely most of the time, that he really thinks Tom is worth it. So he asks Tom out and have wonderful dates. Love how the relationship bloom. It's wonderful ... and it has big family in it, which is a plus.
Only read "Yes!" by Kim Dare from this anthology, but I'll probably come back to it and read the rest, too. 4 stars for Kim Dare - the story was a great mix of sexy, funny, smart and kinky which had me giggling and hopping around my room (hope nobody saw me :P)
This was an enjoyable m/m romance collection. I thought of all the stories were, at the very least, decent, with one exception. And there were definitely a couple that were excellent.
“Cruising” by J.P. Bowie Free of a terrible relationship, Adam is ready to move on with his life. He’s grateful for the change of scenery being casino manager on a cruise ship will provide. However, life aboard The Maiden of the Seas is anything but smooth sailing. His casino team tends to be irresponsible, his friend who got him the job is acting strangely, the ship’s captain doesn’t like him, and a one night stand with the ship’s architect turns out to be more of a headache than a pleasure after the fact. Adam does manage to find one bright spot on board: Brett, the guitarist who plays in the ship’s lounge.
There are an unimaginable number of things that can go wrong on a cruise ship, but J.P. Bowie serves up some disasters you wouldn’t want to face. Adam’s a likeable hero and you can’t help but feel for the guy who has to deal with a whole host of difficult people…especially when you consider the fact that he can’t get away from them while on a ship. “Cruising” is Adam’s journey, as opposed to the more common romance structure which would be the journey of two people. But that doesn’t mean that Mr. Bowie neglects the romance. Brett is everything that Adam deserves and the pair of them are wonderful together. Even taking into account all that Adam has to handle on The Maiden of the Seas, “Cruising” is a lovely, sexy story that will leave you with a smile on your face.
“Maximum Exposure” by Jenna Byrnes and Jude Mason Rob is worried his relationship with Max is in trouble, thanks to his own reticence to play the naughty games Max loves. With Max away on a business conference, Rob comes up with a plan: he’ll fly out for the weekend and meet Max at the conference…and challenge him to a “game” he’s sure Max will love. But will Rob and Max’s weekend away make their relationship stronger? Or will it lead to something that could tear them apart?
“Maximum Exposure” is Erotic with a capital “E.” Jenna Byrnes and Jude Mason dish up red-hot scenarios that are a pleasure to read, while at the same time mixing in some serious relationship problems. Rob’s concerned about the state of his relationship with Max and it automatically made me like him that he was determined to step outside his comfort zone to try and make their relationship better. He and Max are good together, on a number of levels, but they don’t have an altogether easy time of it in “Maximum Exposure.” An interfering man with a past connection to Max threatens to break them apart and I was eagerly reading “Maximum Exposure,” waiting to see Max and Rob overcome the obstacles the other man throws down in their path. All in all, I adored “Maximum Exposure.” Mses. Byrnes and Mason are each wonderful authors in their own right, and as a pair they’re dynamite!
“Yes!” by Kim Dare To Andrew, life is meant to be lived pleasurably. If a man he’s interested in wants to have sex with him, Andrew’s not about to say “no.” He doesn’t see a problem with this, but Stephen – a young man claiming to be a Dom – seems to believe Andrew’s some kind of slut that’s incapable of saying “no.” Stephen makes a bet with Andrew, one where Andrew has to see if he can turn down everything Stephen has to offer for twelve hours. Andrew thinks this wager is his to win, and he’s more than ready to teach the would-be Dom a lesson…though he’s still looking forward to some vanilla sex with Stephan.
But Stephen has some surprises in store for Andrew. The younger man is more a true Dom than Andrew gives him credit for, and he has a few lessons of his own to teach the stubborn sub. Lessons that make Andrew want to scream “Yes!”
Sex, sparring, and submission pack one hell of a punch in the incredibly fun “Yes!” The battle of wills between Andrew and Stephen was so enjoyable that, after I finished listening to “Yes!” the first time, I wanted to immediately launch into a re-read.
Andrew thinks he knows pretty much everything about sex and his cockiness is part of his appeal. He’s sure there’s no way that Stephen, nineteen to Andrew’s twenty-six, is at all experienced or proficient enough as a Dom to meet his exacting standards. Boy is he wrong. Stephen’s quiet dominance and self-assured manner is every bit the match for Andrew’s arrogance. Stephen frustrates Andrew over the course of their bet, both sexually and mentally and the way Kim Dare handles this makes sparks almost literally fly over the course of the story. And what heat those sparks generate! “Yes!” is an erotic delight on top of being a fun heroes-battle-their-way-into-love tale. The sensuality in “Yes!” is a palpable presence, whether you’re reading or listening to the tale.
I can never say “no” to the opportunity to read one of Ms. Dare’s books, and “Yes!” proves why. Ms. Dare has delivered another winning romance in Andrew and Stephen’s story; it’s red-hot entertainment at its most engaging.
“Sorry Charlie” by Ashley Ladd After years apart, Charlie is finally reconciling with his father. The only problem is, his partner, Jon, seems to be resentful of all the time Charlie’s spending with his dad. Jon claims that he’s just worried about Charlie getting hurt again, especially by his mean siblings, but Charlie doesn’t want to hear it. Will he have to choose between his family and Jon?
Families have a way of rocking the boat and I commend Ashley Ladd for taking a storyline that isn’t the happiest, to say the least, and not taking the easy way out by making things go smoothly for Charlie and Jon. I absolutely adored Jon and his love for Charlie came through bright and clear. It was harder for me to like Charlie. I didn’t dislike him, but he fell a bit flat for me. There were a few parts of “Sorry Charlie” that were a bit cheesy and out of place with the rest of the story, but overall it was a decent read.
“Heat of the Night” by SL Majors Stephen Powell wants to be in London, partying night and day and screwing anything in a skirt. He does not want to be on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming, which is where his aunt has “sentenced” him to stay for a few weeks. But upon his arrival at the Double S Ranch, Stephen discovers the place may have something to recommend it: Dakota Youngblood. The older man is quiet, hardworking, and so sexy it makes Stephen’s mouth water. For a guy who’s never worked hard – or fallen for a man – Stephen is in for one hell of a learning experience.
SL Majors does the nearly impossible in “Heat of the Night.” She takes a character who, by all rights, shouldn’t be likeable (Stephen) and makes him an endearing hero. I loved watching Stephen get knocked off his feet not once, but twice. He learns the value of hard work at the Double S Ranch, but the captivating part of “Heat of the Night” is, of course, watching Stephen grapple with his feelings for Youngblood. It’s easy to see why Stephen falls for the older man, but it was a delight to see Dakota reciprocating. “Heat of the Night” is erotic as hell, but it’s also surprisingly sweet – a perfect combination in my book.
“One Night Stand” by Cassandra Gold After two years spent mourning his partner, Tom is finally ready to date again. Feeling somewhat out of place at a bar on his first night out, Tom is surprised when he’s picked up by the gorgeous, blond Ian. Things heat up quickly, but Tom’s not the type for a one night stand and too late he discovers that a one night stand is all Ian is willing to give him. Tom knows he should put Ian out of his mind after their one night together, but when their paths cross again, it seems like Ian is tempted to break his self-imposed rule. Is it possible their one night stand could actually be the start of something far more permanent?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Cassandra Gold’s stories, it’s that Ms. Gold excels at creating heroes you wish were real. Tom and Ian are no exception and that’s why “One Night Stand” shines. I immediately cared about both Tom and Ian and wanted nothing more than the two to find happiness with one another. Tom has loved and lost and I admired the way he was willing to open himself up to love again. Ian, on the other hand, has loved and been burned – more than once. He doesn’t want relationships because he’s protecting his heart; something that’s understandable, even if it’s clear to readers that he’s missing out on living life to its fullest. Ian makes a few mistakes, but not deliberately, and I found I adored him just as much for his flaws as his attractions. Speaking of attraction, the heat between Tom and Ian is red hot deliciousness. The pair sizzle and the sexiness of “One Night Stand” is every bit as appealing as Ian and Tom’s general likeability (not something to be underestimated). “One Night Stand” is wonderfully entertaining from beginning to end and I find myself loving Tom and Ian more and more each time I read their story.
Friction is an incredible anthology, filled, as it were, with some of the best voices in contemporary romance. If you’re looking for a collection of sinfully delicious stories to pass the day with, Friction is the book for you.
Note: All of the stories in Friction are also sold individually as e-books and audio books.
Rob is on his way to surprise his partner Max – not that he knew if he would be welcomed, but because he knew he had to do something to put the spark back into their relationship.
He and Max has been together for too long to not make this work – but with Max’s panache for wanting to get his groove on in the eyes of the public, things are not going so well, as that is not Rob’s style. Rob is however committed to finding a middle ground for their problem and so he is making the first step.
Max is elated to see Rob and his open minded to meeting Rob half way in resolving what to him is just a glitch. More than just their willingness/reluctance to make the best of the weekend comes to light however and Rob is placed in a position of wondering if it’s not better to cut his lose whilst he’s ahead of the game – the ball is now in Max’s court.
MAXIMUM EXPOSURE is a part of the Fiction Anthology and I paused for a day or two to put this review together. First off this is a short story – don't know the page count, but fairly short, the plus about this this book is that it is centered around a period of time when a relationship is losing it’s gleam – for one or more reasons.
The protags Rob and Max feels so real – they fear, they strut, they have doubts and one is scared of losing the most important thing his life and the other falls prey to the usual workplace angst, I could so relate to this. The language just rolls with the plot – and there is a sense of growth with this book. It’s short but packs a hells of a punch.
As I said it took two days to get this on paper because firstly this book highlights the fact that sometimes you have to take a risk to have it all, secondly It show that weakness is not necessarily a bad thing – it could be the strongest feature of a relationship. Everything goes quickly and there is nice balance between wanting and doing everything for the sake preserving a relationship.
Once again I can’t say enough about the style Byrnes and Mason brings to each and every book they do together, and as I said as well I feel maturity in this script – it feels more solid than the other books I have read by them, I am looking forward to where they go from here.
This the first Anthology that I have read every single story and that was all based on the quality of MAXIMUM EXPOSURE.
Cruising by JP Bowie 3/5 stars Cute but boring love story. Ending suck, anticlimactic. Story without something to make it remarkable. Too much secondary personages.
Maximum Exposure by Jenna Byrnes & Jude Mason 3.5/5 stars What's going to happen when the novelty's going to become old news? How far they are going to go?
Yes! by Kim Dare 1/5 stars This story didn't work for me. First, you can agree or disagree with a lot of think without ever saying yes or no. The fact that the writer didn't make Andrew used that make me think that she wanted him to appear as an idiot. Total success on that. Secondly, it's not because you agree or disagree with someone that you have do what you just said yes or no for...specially since you don't submit (yeah, as if!) Thirdly, this plot point, where a top/master/dom say to a bottom/sub/whatever: "don't befriend this person, he is not good", "don't go there, it's not safe" or in the case that interested us, when a know-better-than-you make a bet with the love interest, we can absolutely sure that the new friend is an asshole, that bottomboy's going to have an accident or that he is going to lose the bet. Predictable and annoying. Prove me I'm wrong on that one! Try it! For me Andrew lose not only the bet but his pride. And win nothing. No, having a relation with Stephen it's not a plus for me, it's go on the less side.
Sorry Charlie by Ashley Ladd 4/5 stars Find this one very touching. Definitively in need of a sequel. Want to know what happened next.
Heat of the Night by SL Majors 3.5/5 stars I had a problem with that one. Again a writer that's make a difference between having heterosexual sex and gay sex (Talk about 'gay virginity' here). We don't have two virginity. Look on a dictionary if you don't know the definitions of this word. Yes how you have sex is different in these two case but it's the 'how to' that's different not the 'act of' himself. As for the story, it's was sweet but everything happened too fast, make their story not credible.
One Night Stand by Cassandra Gold 4/5 stars Love that one. Sweet. Personage sympa. My preferred in this anthology. A new writer to me, certainly not the last one of her.

In my rating I haven't considered Bowie and Byrnes-Mason's stories, because isn't fair that innocents pay the price.
Cruising by J.P. Bowie - 1 star Demoted rating due to unethical -and double!- auto-rating from its author; former rating: 3 stars)
