Henning Mankell was an internationally known Swedish crime writer, children's author and playwright. He was best known for his literary character Kurt Wallander.
Mankell split his time between Sweden and Mozambique. He was married to Eva Bergman, Swedish director and daughter of Ingmar Bergman.
This was an astonishing little murder mystery in just over 50 pages, the first time I’ve read anything by Henning Mankell in English. Now of course I’ll have to see if I can find the Swedish original (and read it again) …
😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍 🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍🎄😍
Not the greatest read, but my first "book" in Swedish nonetheless. :-) I've been studying on my own for about a year now, and this has been a fairly easy read. Sure, there still was quite a bit of new vocabulary, but it never got to a point where I couldn't follow the story. I'll definitely buy more books from the "Lättläst" series, it's very motivating to realize that you can actually read a somewhat complex text.
Read it for a Swedish course. The book was okay, very easy to read, but I think this easiness was also my greatest detriment to really enjoying it. It was usually possible to call out plot twists at least a chapter in advance. That said, it’s not a horrible book, and its small format makes it very easy to read on the go.
