A wonderful read of the history and folklore of Ocracoke. I actually took a picture of the former Islander Inn. It's in pieces right now, waiting to be renovated. The town is a lot smaller than I imagined reading the book. Delightful tales.

Well researched and told. If you visit the Outer Banks these tales add to the mystery and romance of the islands.

Short book of local legends and some history of the island/village we have been vacationing at for many summers now. Well-written and solid.

Great book if you love Ocracoke and stories of small, isolated communities filled with interesting folks who shun mainstream culture like the plague it is.

There is a story in this book that my parents were part of.
