Given the subtitle, "The Purpose of Design", I was hoping for a book more about design and furniture styles than a book about the company. The book is in a way both and I recommend it highly but recognize there is a lot about the company, its ideals, leadership, and personality. It is absolutely amazing what Herman Miller has accomplished over the years and all the tremendous designers who have played a role in its success.

Excellent view of what design and the built environment were meant to accomplish. Highly recommended.
