Dear Pat, First, how are you feeling? I hope this message finds you well. Second, I've finished your remarkable story: Lonely Trail! Although I've been close to you and Sandy over many years, reading your autobiography recalled and revealed what I most love and admire about you both. There were so many family and colleagues that I knew or knew-of, your health problems, the academic challenges, and the Golden Years, when on the printed page - in time-order - revealed visions of being-there with you all the more profound.
Did you keep a diary throughout your previous life-time? I was awed by your amazing memory for details! Would that I had such recall! What I know best, love, and learned from you continues to inspire and call me to be the best I can be. Like your family, friends, colleagues, and students, no one in your sphere of influence remains unchanged by your courage, brilliance, and humanity.
