Lashiala, who is betrothed to a powerful nobleman, is trapped in a mining city overrun by hostile beasts, and her only hope for survival rests with a brutish and subhuman Kadeshi warrior.
Almost as good as Reiyalindis, Lashiala is about a young woman engaged to a powerful noble in a country where a certain race of humans is viewed as semi-intelligent and useful only for slave labor. Her ideas of the world are turned on their heads when her city is invaded by real monsters, and she must escape with a man of the supposedly semi-intelligent race (names escape me right now.) This is a suspenseful book, but it does have some cheesy moments and silly sentiments. However, it does make for a fairly quick and entertaining read.
