Keep your grass cut! Them snakes bite! Love will make you do some crazy things and beyond crazy for some. The signs were there, the gut feelings were there...you just never know how mentally disturbed a person can be. This book was full of deceit, betrayal, scheming, death and love. It will have you smiling, frowning, ready to beat someone down and feeling defeated all in one! I'm definitely ready to see what comes in the next installment.

I enjoyed this story....It had a whole lot going on with each character...It took me a minute to figure out who was who...Once I got that down packed...the story became more enjoyable...I think my favorite characters was probably between Chauncey & Sasha, and Tatum & Ree...They kept my attention the most...Your girl Neli was straight crazy! I was a little disappointed at what happen to Kim...I wanted to see if anything would become of her and Blair...but for the most part this was a pretty good story...I look forward to reading the next book...

In Thicker Than Water by Takerra Allen, readers are introduced to Sasha, Neli, Kim and Tatum four friends whose friendship changes when they allow lies, betrayal and secrets in. Sasha loves her some Chauncey but she also loves her friends. What do you do when some of your friends don’t love you back? Sasha is face with the reality that one of her best friends may be out to ruin her life.

Kim is the ride or die chick and has her friends back in any given situation. Kim works as an exotic dancer who passes the time with married men. Kim’s tattling ways soon leads her in the arms of the wrong person.

Tatum is trying to play it safe. Everything was going well until she meets Ree, a well-known drug leader. Tatum denies the attraction at first but soon lets her defenses down. When someone robs Ree for his money, Tatum is caught in the middle when all of the evidence points to her brother. Will she stand by family or her man?

Neli allows jealousy to rule her world and she will do whatever it takes to knock her friend off her pedestal. In the process of plotting and planning, Neli soon realizes that she has bitten off more than she can chew. Will she find out before it is too late?

Thicker Than Water is about the dynamics of four women and the life paths they have chosen. The author does a wonderful job including suspense, drama and mystery in the story. The twists and turns were unsuspected and had me anticipating the characters next moves. The grammatical errors did not take away from the storyline. This being my first time reading this author I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I recommend Thicker Than Water to others.

This is the first book I have read by Takerra Allen, and I liked it.

I wasn't able to give it my usual 4 to 5 star rating for a couple of reasons. First, I have read a substantial amount of urban fiction, and "Thicker Than Water," in my humble opinion, lacks originality. Second, I don't know if it was the formatting for Kindle, but the transitions were not smooth.

Other than this, I liked the plot twists and character development. She definitely draws you in, and keeps you interested, which is a sign of a good writer and storyteller.

One thing I took from "Thicker Than Water," is that our choices matter and one wrong decision can change the course of our lives and the lives of others.

I look forward to reading more by this gifted author.

I feel so in love with these characters. 4 friends with a tight bond. You have the rich kid, the headstrong one, the nut job and the freak. They have mad love for each other and the men in their lives until jealousy puts a wrap on that. Neli is the worst and everything was her fault. I loved Kim spirit and she could peep the BS from a mile away. But Ree, that man it like a God send. I love the way the author depicted his character. As ruthless as his personality is her still had a heart of pure gold.

This was a good read with lots of drama, jealousy and betrayal. This book shows how you have love for your girls and little do you know one of them is plotting and planning on how to ruin everybody's life without remorse. This book drew me in and had me up all night wanting to hurt and kill off a couple of characters.

I look forward to reading more books from is author.

I purchased this novel and was captivated by the first chapter and was unable to put it down until the very last page. We are taken into the lives of 4 friends and watch them go through the trials and tribulations of the life that was handed to them. What sets this apart from other urban fiction novels is that Takerra has the ability to make you feel the characters emotions. You feel Sasha's passion for Chauncey, Tantums true love for Ree, Nelies Jelousy and Kims crazy wild ways. This is a love story that also shows the downfall of a what was once a solid friendship but was interupted by betraly, jealousy, hate, revenge and unfortunatly death. I truly loved this book and have also pyrchase Still Thicker Than Water and the anticipated TTW3. In this novel Takker has a solid story line that keeps you guessing at every page turned. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen something completely takes over. I hope that TTW 3 is not a Finale because i am not ready to say goodbye to this series.

Friend or Foe

The divas of Brick City , Newark, Sasha, Tatum, Kim and Nelli are as thick as thieves. Beautiful, sassy and stylish, these lovely ladies can go toe to toe with the best of the elite and get any man their hearts' desire. Friendships and relationships are tested when a slew of uneventful activities come into play that may cause their lives to change forever.

"Thicker Than Water" is very entertaining and will have you on the edge of your seat. The drama was unbelievable and kept me glued to the very end. I was really excited when I read one of the characters with the same name as mine. The ending left me hanging and wanting more, but at the same time thrilled that there will be a part II. Ms. Allen has definitely got the literary game on lock.

This is one of those books that doesn't have the best writing technique and needed editing, but I really was drawn into the story. I was entertained the entire way through and I was constantly on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happened next. The girls in this story each brought something to the story. Sasha was my favorite. She was sweet, but didn't take any mess. I routed for her and Chauncey throughout the whole book because they deserved happiness. Kim was completely outrageous and had me laughing out loud a lot. Tatum was the quiet one, who finally found the man who could make her happy, but she is forced to give him up. Neli was a whole different story. She was batshit crazy and needed institutionalization. I would have given this book a higher rating, but the misuse of POV and lack of editing prevented me from doing so.

WOW!! Fire!!! More turns than a merry go round. The saying, " hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" and jealousy is as cruel as the grave are both understatements when it comes to this tale of four fabulous friends. Sasha and Tatum have it all college students, great boyfriends with plenty of money to spend. Kim because of her past has decided that sex and money is the only love that she needs. Neli is looking for love from anybody willing to give it to her. These are four best friends, but what happens when one allows jealousy to completely consume her. The author developed the heck out of these ladies. The funny part is they are totally relate able, they could very well be your friends. Although with these ladies you'd want to keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Well you have to read it to find out. A 5 Star banger all the way. Get the book!!!

Takerra Allen does an excellent job of pulling you in from the beginning and keeping you on edge for the entire ride. We are introduced to Sasha, Tatum, Neli and Kim. These ladies come from different walks of life and form a great bond. They are there for each other until one goes for "self."

The character development was outstanding. They are engaging and very relatable. The little details we get about each character is enough to put things into perspective. The storyline is off the chain. You will experience a range of emotions. Ms Allen makes it very hard for you to be the book down. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of her works. I highly recommend this book.

Thicker than Water was the first book that I have read by Takerra Allen and it will not be my last. This book was full of drama from the very beginning to the end. I like how she touched on the reality of friendships and relationships. Thicker than Water included betrayal, deceit, love, lust, lies, jealousy and death. The deceit that Neli caused her friends and love ones was very upsetting, she caused so much pain to those around her that it was like a chain reaction of bad events for everyone. I look forward to reading the rest of the series

I'm not sure about the "Sex and the City" reference it was more like "The Real Housewives of Atlanta". It took a long time for me to get into this book and therefore a long time to finish. I felt like the stories were very disjointed at the beginning. Neli's confession at the end should not have come as a big shocker-except for the part about Kim. I don't feel compelled to read the 2nd part but maybe sometime in the future.

This book and the other 2 sequels, are some of the best books I have ever read. I could not put this book down. I finished the whole series within a day and a half. This book will have u in tears, laughter, anger etc. At some points it has me wishing I could jump in the book, and hurt people lol. But if your looking for something good through and through, then I definitely recommend this whole series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt that she did an awesome job with the character development and I felt that I really knew the characters. one thing that did bother me was the constant label dropping at the beginning of the book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series to see what happens to the girls

Despite the clichés and it being a first book from such a young author, I loved it! It reminded me of one of my all time favourite books 'the coldest winter'. So happy I stumbled across it and I will definitely be reading more from Takeera Allen.
