"Demo Men" offers an in-depth glimpse into the Military's most dangerous job. It takes a special breed of courageous and highly skilled men and women to defuse unstable ordnance and diabolically-crafted Improvised Explosive Devices. This is the world of the EOD Technician (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) technician. Author Gary R. Smith chronicles an impressive litany of harrowing and humorous experiences of U.S. Navy, Army and Marine Corps Bomb disposal technicians, as told by those who were there in hostile theaters of operations such as Vietnam and the deserts of Southwest Asia during the close of the 1991 Gulf War.

Special mention is also given to the explosive history of bomb disposal during the Blitz in World War II and the indelible wisdom past down from Navy Admiral Draper Kaufman, the founding father of military bomb disposal. "Demo Men" also pays homage to his lasting legacy by taking the reader to Indian Head, Maryland; home to the prestigious EOD School where all bomb techs from all four branches of the military learn their life-saving craft.

If you're a fan of Stephen Phillips' Military/Thriller "Proximity" this book makes for a great companion!
