Go Girl! calls to me. As a black woman and a traveler, it was awesome and inspiring to read the recollections and essays about black women's adventures abroad. Too often, I think, black women are afraid to step away from the known. We don't see too many African American women travelling out in the world, sot to read a whole book about them was great! It brought back memories of alot of my own experiences and highlighted the invaluable experience that travel provides. It helps us to find ourselves, understand ourselves, and (hopefully) to gain an awareness and tolerance for what is different.

It’s a lovely book, printed in ‘97. For those who love reading about travelling, this is a nice read. It goes in detail, so I would suggest everyone to first travel to all those places and then read this book as a revival of memories (if possible). It was interesting to see how countries and cities were at that time from a traveler and black woman’s perspective. A unique book in that sense.
