One of my favorite cookbooks. Any good cookbook will explain the history and cultural context of a recipe, and this one does so in a succinct style. I fell in love with Chilean food during a duty stint there, and this cookbook has many of my favorite dishes, heavy on tradition with very little fancy food that would only be found in better restaurants in the cities.

My father is Chilean so this was a fun recipe book with meals that I had seen my aunt cooking all throughout my childhood and now I am able to cook myself!
