As a wine professional for over 20 years I must say that Drops of God is a guilty pleasure. The wine information is largely quite accurate and the entire plot is just a wonderful ride through the fantastic world of fine wine!
This continues to be just exactly what it is -- a love letter to not just wine but wine culture that gives the mangaka team a chance to write a lot of moving (or sometimes merely sentimental) short stories that are linked together by Kanzaki and Issei on their various quests to figure out the apostles. I don't for a minute think that wine is *inherently* all the things that this series claims for it, but it's a fun world to visit when I'm in the right mood, and I'm sure I'll finish the series over the course of 2024.
