Susan Hancock's life wasn't over yet! Though she'd spent her first forty-two years being responsible--building a business, raising a child--she had no intention of gracefully fading into old age. And replacing her suburban wagon with a bright red Trans Am was her first blow for freedom. Dating the Trans Am's owner was her second.
"Mac" MacGregor was, according to Susan's smitten daughter, "an awesome hunk"--and a young one at that. But in spite of raised eyebrows, Susan felt reborn. The age difference didn't matter, she thought. That is, until Mac began planning for their future....
This one wasn't bad but I just never connected with it or the characters much I guess. Heroine is 42 and raised her college going daughter all alone. After a man she has been dating for years takes up with a younger woman she decides to shake up her dull life and buys a sports car from none other than the hero. The hero is 32 and of Scottish descent who is attracted to her from the start. There is a scene where heroine's daughter makes a fool of herself over the attractive hero, which was cringe-worthy but also hilarious when he gently breaks it to her that it is her mother he wants. These two start spending time together and soon are in love. Obviously their respective friend circles don't much gel. Then the reality smacks them in the face, hero wants kids, heroine doesn't, but still they can't let go. They spend some time apart and realise love like theirs is precious and heroine realises this time she won't be all alone raising a child. The hero was pretty sweet and willing to do anything to have the heroine in his life permanently.
