I really enjoyed this book. This is one of those "fringe" type books that are my guilty pleasures as conjecture cannot be tested fully. However I feel that Frank Dorland does a great job at exploring the history of crystal skulls from a practical, non-hysterical jumping-to-conclusions kind of writing.

In the exploration of such we get writings on mythologies, archaeology, and history. The topics of Merlin and the Sir Lancelot was a favorite section of mine. Also, the beginning chapter when the author went to San Francisco and visited Hewlett-Packard where tests were done on a "genuine" crystal skull in the early 1970s was great. In this chapter the author discusses how the crystal skull in San Francisco attracted "psychologists, shamans, psychiatrists, medicine men, university professors, witch doctors, voodoo priests, and many others" in addition Dorland kept the skull at his home in the Bay area which attracted similar characters including Anthony LaVey. After LaVey left Dorland and his wife went to bed and experienced the 1st and only time in their home that they heard weird noises and furniture moved around that the crystal skull was in, something they attributed to the influence of LaVey's energy on the skull.

Fans of crystal skull research and discovery should get their hands on this. It's out of print but worth hunting down a copy. I feel like it was a balanced read for what it's worth.
