The characters I write will not be perfect. None of us are. They will make mistakes. All of the hero's will have redeeming qualities, but on the outset, you may not be their biggest fan. My heroine's will be the kind of women you want to hang out with. They're the women next door, down the street and around the corner. They are the ladies you would want to spend time with on a Saturday night drinking a martini.

I have been an avid reader of romance novels since the age of 14 and know what appeals to me as reader. My goal is, and will always be, to provide that same experience for the women and men who read my novellas and short stories.

I’m a former Marine and served for 8 years, so strong military men will always be a favorite topic of mine. I will continue to write stories with military heroes’ front and center. I’m also a fan of Alpha-males and strong women who love with everything they have.

The dialogue here was so, long. The exchanges between the female protagonist and her friends seemed off and forced. She (the fp) kept referencing her "toffee skin," which made me yell "Ok, we get it!" Geesh. I couldn't finish it...I think I made it to the third chapter and called it quits :/. But meh, don't take my word for it. Read it yourself to see if you like it. Because, my opinion is just that, Mine. :D Happy Readings!

I liked Austin and Kara. Austin was strong, sexy and funny as was Kara. I liked that Kara DID call Austin to let him know she was pregnant even if she didn't go all out to track him down, but the whole pregnancy scenario seemed forced. It's getting harder and harder to write these types of stories with the morning after pill in existence. I don't know too many women who, KNOWING that the condom slipped, would just sit around hoping everything's ok. Most would be beating a path to the nearest pharmacy. Kara sitting around waiting just seemed strange and took away from the believability of the story for me. Loved that Austin stepped up to the plate in a big way, but

All in all, a simple short read at 116 pages. Three stars.

I really enjoyed this read. It read super fast, only took me about 2 hours. This was a multi POV story and both characters were represented well.

This is different that what we normally see when it comes to couples. This one had an interacial couple and I loved the chemistry of them. Their differences were not thrown in our face. They were no different than anyone else and I liked that. She was a sweetheart and he was a sexy yet dominating Navy Seal.

The storyline was great, the characters easy to enjoy and the dialogue was witty and charming. Like any story, this couple had their ups and downs but they worked it out of course leading to our often sought after HEA.

This read just made me happy. No tears, no heart twinge moments but lots of Aaaahhhh's and smiles throughout this book.

Would I recommend this book? Yes

Would I read more from this author? Yes (Reading Second Chances next)

An unfortunate read to say the least. If I'm being completely honest I couldn't even finish it. To start, this is not the worst book I have ever read. I swear I wish it was. But it's still pretty bad. Sometimes we get authors who are good writers with bad plots, other times we get bad authors with good plots. Reana Malori is an unfortunate combination of both. This plot originally did not convince me, but there was just enough of something that made me want to give it a chance. I think it was probably just the combination of having a W.O.C as a protagonist and a military man. I'm a sucker for a man in uniform. But what a good book comes down to is a good style of writing and that was lacking here. For more in depth reviews, please check out my blog https://thebookclubscafe.blogspot.com/

A beautiful lady, a handsome, powerful Navy seal about ready to retire, a weekend of love that seemed to mean more than just sex, and the unexpected appearance of a baby on the way. Yet the father-to-be is silent for months, and the mother is prepared to do the single-mother thing. Yet all is not as it appears, and this is a story of love and discovery, disappointment and abandonment, love and the beauty of the illusive and precious second chance. It may be a plot that has been explored before, but it is very well done here, and by the end of the story I really liked these characters alot. Very entertaining and satisfying read.

This was a meh read. I liked the characters. I think that was the only reason I finished the book. However, the story seemed like it was forced. It is about a night of passion turning into a pregnancy. To me, the pregnancy situation was not up to its potential. I thought the book was boring at parts. I was happy at the end because they got a happy ending. Overall, a read that was not for me.

I like pregnancy stories and I enjoyed read this story. I did like how the heroine handled telling her man that she was in the family but then she thought he had forgotten about her.

It happened one weekend...

What was supposed to be a girl's night out turned into a fantastic weekend of passion and friendship. When Austin leaves, Kara is left with a surprise. She has decided to move on with the help of her friends and family. When Austin returns from his latest mission, he is in for a surprise, and together they must come to grips with their new dynamic. Enjoyable short read.

Disappointing

The main reason why it even got 2 stars was because it was nice to see for a change what happens after the hook up. Buuuttt the author did not do a good job with the flow of the storyline AT ALL. Felt like she would start talking about something and it would just jump. Finish out the steamy scenes, give us build up to "I love you", in short finish what you start. Where is the mystery, plot twist, something

Okay

Not something I would read again and I really look forward to your books. It was different how you wrote about the condom. Why was she crying because he didn't tell her about the money. He didn't care about the money, he only cared about her. The only thing I saw was a good man. She knows she didn't want his money. Oh well. I can only squeeze 3 stars for this one.

Interesting

This was an interesting read. The weekend, which was actually a day and a half, resulted in pregnancy. It was interesting that after months of separation they just fell into a groove. Good read, just a little unrealistic.

Just Enough

The writer gives a sweet funny and sexy romance that hits all the bases and then some. This is not a full length novel but it's long enough for you to experience all the ups and downs.

I loved the fast pace of the relationship between Austin and Kara. Two consenting adults doing what they feel is right. A fun . Quick easy read. Highly recommended

Sweet and good.

Austin and Kara are a good couple. They are both strong but learn to mesh together. Editing was good with very minimal errors. Will read more by this author.

I thought I would try something different with my reviews because I'm usually scatterbrained with my reviews and I hate leaving some things out. I figured I would try reviewing in another form. So, here it goes!

GENRE: Weekend Night Stand (lol), Interracial Love Story
LENGTH: Short; only 77 pages :/
MAIN CHARACTERS: Kara Thomas-a beautiful, strong African-American woman who gets pregnant after a weekend affair.
Austin Delaney: a Caucasian (dark blond hair, and green eyes), Navy Seal who falls in love quickly after spending a weekend with Kara.
LIKES ABOUT THE BOOK: How fast you can tell they were falling in love.
The fact that race doesn't matter and love doesn't have a color.
The steam factor...boy! was this erotic!!
DISLIKES ABOUT THE BOOK: It is way too short, I kind of felt like after their magically weekend, the story just went WAY too fast. I wanted to see them more together.
OVERALL THOUGHTS ABOUT BOOKS: This book captured my attention throughout it and I could barely put it down! Do Liz and Jack get a book? If they do, I need it NOW! lol
STEAM LEVEL: SO HOT!!!
DOES IT END IN A CLIFFHANGER?: No, thank God!
FAVORITE QUOTES: Nothing really comes to mind right now.
FINAL RATING: 4.25 stars!
WOULD I RECOMMEND?: Definitely, especially if love love stories that are in the fast lane! :P
