The Selection
Mira is a 19-year-old battlemage who one day gets marked as a girl chosen for the Dark Selection – the event where dark lords of a neighbouring Empire choose brides for themselves among human girls as part of the tribute of the war they won many years ago.
Although it is considered to be a great honour to become a wife of a dark one, the girls are considered their property with no voice even before the marriage. They cannot choose, only get chosen.
And freedom-loving Mira just cannot agree with that. Too bad the eye-catching girl attracts the attention of too many lords, even including the most powerful and dark one…the last dragon.
Her ex-fiance is also at the Selection and not leaving her alone. And what’s worse, the girls at the Dark Selection start to die one after another under mysterious circumstances.
Would Mira be able to survive and escape? Or would she find something she never expected in the place she loathes so much?

This story is so special, Marion Artwood is a Goddess of writing, storytelling, cliffhangers and lots of other things that just keep you glued to the book. When reading her stories you realize that things like sleep, food, water or job are highly overrated. When you are in her world you are there completely and even after finishing the book you still think about characters, their choices, their ideas.
Luckily, this is not the only Marion's book, first published, the only published yet, but she has so much more to share, inspire, indulge her readers with... Just try it and you'll see it for yourself!

This is a captivating of story of true love found under unexpected circumstances. When Mira was forces to take part in the Dark Selection, she hated any gerdian that ever existed. However, the man she loathed more than anyone, turned out to be her secret ally.
This is a fantasy romance with many unpredictable twists, loads of humour, some steam and a love story to die for.
And Dragons, of course there are dragons too.

Okay i didn't read this book via paper back i read it on a app call Wehear or whatever! Its the audiobook version but omg it’s excellent! I loved this book so much it was giving murder mystery, kinda forced proximity, slow burn, romance, twists it was great! And i didnt hate the MFC she was great and the banter was cute!

Really like this author...discovered her on a reading app and when this book was published, I had to get it! It's full of action, suspense and love with a few unexpected twists. I really couldn't put it down (and it's a massive book so clear out your schedule!)

I loved the book and storyline in this fantasy. The author has a way of drawing you into the characters. Was worth the read in my opinion.

This is one amazing book that keeps you drawn in and wanting to keep reading. It's definitely been hard to put down the book at night. Strong characters, the suspense, drama, and love makes you wanting more and more. Mira and Derrien's love story is amazing. Marion has definitely delivered so much in this book. With Dragon's, magic, and love, it's a good combo and well balanced.

Marion Artwood writes amazing stories and characters, Bride of the Dark Dragon #1 being my favorite.
Narrators Gaby and Mikee definitely augmented this story with their brilliant characterizations. I do wish to know more about them and if they also narrate under a different name.
