Sting of Ice

Rate this book
Revenge is a dish best served cold, and as a figure skating Olympic medalist, I couldn't agree more.

I thrived on the ice until the day my boyfriend cheated on me with my biggest rival, causing me to lose my job and tarnishing my reputation.

Seeing the two people you hate the most get everything you ever wanted hurts, but I'm not about to let them win. In my quest for retribution though, I broke an unspoken family rule.

I kissed my sister's brother in law to make my ex jealous.

Killian Astor is everything I was taught to avoid.
He is as gorgeous as he is dangerous.
An anarchist and my unlikely ally.

He wants nothing to do with me, but giving up isn't in my nature, and I need his help. In order to keep my lies under wraps, I get him to agree to keep up this charade in front of my ex-boyfriend and his new flame, thinking my heart is strong enough to bear the burnt of his affections.

But the more we act like we're in love, the more I lose sight of my original plan.

And that can't happen because if this becomes more than a fake relationship, we'll end up hurting the people we care about most.

“I got lost in your orbit, but I didn’t feel lost at all.”

To Killian Astor & Irena Fleur,
Are you guys looking for a third in your relationship?? If yes, then consider this as my official proposal.

This was one of my anticipated reads for this year and I had great expectations and I was not left disappointed. I mean who doesn't love a forbidden romance with fake relationship??? You cannot go wrong with these tropes.

KillianIrena intrigued me and I had been rooting for them since their first appearance in Vow of Hell.

Killian is single handedly one of the hottest MMC that I've read but with many layers to his character. And Irena ??? I dunno if I wanna be her or be with her. This author kept up with her tradition of giving the book an headstrong FMC. In Killian’s exact words: Irena is fierce, passionate, and merciless. Furthermore, I loved the witty dialogue that came with equally witty characters. And I loved loved loved their nicknames for eachother.

One thing about this author is that she doesn't do anything half-assed. She quiet literally ended this series with a BANG. Also the SaintAriadne, AresSerena and ElianaLeo appearances?? I was quite literally shaking, screaming, crying and throwing up. Can't believe this is the end for this series. It was like yesterday when I stumbled across Kiss of War.

‘Sting of Ice’ comes out on 14th of December and I cannot emphasize this enough but: You absolutely DO NOT want to miss this one out!!!

Sting of Ice was the perfect conclusion to the series and it marked the end of an incredible era. The story flowed flawlessly and the character development was executed brilliantly. Killian and Irena made an appearance in Vow of Hell and I have been invested in them since. Their story was by far my favourite in the series. I loved the fake dating, forced proximity, friends to lovers and forbidden aspects.

Killian and Irena were attracted to one another since their siblings got together. To avoid any family drama, they suppressed their feelings and distanced from one another. Despite not being able to act on his want, Killian was over-the-top jealous and possessive. He sabotaged every chance Irene had at any relationship. The ‘if I can’t have her, no one can have her’ vibe got me all giddy.

When Irena’s douchebag of an ex cheated on her with her biggest rival, her world came crashing down. To rebuild her reputation and popularity, she sought help from Killian to be her fake boyfriend. They figured setting clear boundaries would stop them from falling in love with one another. The push and pull between them was painful, frustrating and torturous. They eventually acted on their desires, one taste was not enough. They could not keep their hands off each other. The steam was delicious and I loved a passionate, unashamed, dirty mouth fmc.

Oh Killian! This hard working, ambitious tattoo artist had so much depth to him. He was not what he seemed. As Irena got to know him, she fell even harder in love with him (and so did I). Underneath that bad boy exterior was a gentle, supportive and kind soul. He allowed himself to be open, honest and vulnerable around his loved ones. Some of my favourite scenes were between him and Luca.

A terrible accident drew Killian and Irena apart and tested the strength of their relationship. With the help of their family, this beautiful couple found their way back to one another. I loved seeing couples from previous books, particularly Saint and Ariadne. They played a key part in this book and I enjoyed seeing how their journey progressed since we last saw them.

I have been following this series since the very first book and I can't believe this is the last one, I'm really going to miss the whole gang!!!

Sting of Ice is the story of Killian and Irena, I have been waiting for their book since their first interaction in VoH because let me tell you from the get go their back and forth was gold. And Clara kept that up here because the banter and push & pull between them was once again one of my favorite parts.

This book started a bit slow so it took me a little bit to really get into it but after the club scene I couldn't look away and I breezed through the rest. The characters were amazing, the steam was delicious and getting to revisit past characters was the perfect closure we needed. I'm sad to say good-bye but I'm already super excited for Yazmin's story, February can't come soon enough!

What an incredible end to the City of Stars interconnected series by Clara, we’re first introduced to Irena and Killian in book 2 Vow of Hell and I just knew they would be something special!

The chemistry between these two was absolutely gripping for me, the push and pull of their relationship, how it’s slightly forbidden, how they attempted to stay away from each other despite the burning desire and the fact their siblings are married. The spice is panty melting, every spicy scene and Killians filthy mouth definitely had me blushing!

“𝐼𝑓 𝑖𝑡 𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑜 𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ, 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝐼 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑒𝑒”

Between Irena being betrayed by her ex and her biggest competitor which torpedoed her ice skating career and Killians childhood secret that made it impossible to let anyone in, their fake relationship was definitely everything I hoped for and more!

Clara’s writing is exceptionally good, the Lilith and Lucifer nicknames and the blue butterflies, everything had such meaning behind them which made reading Sting of Ice so special. 💜

REVIEW: "I got lost in your orbit, but I didn't feel lost at all"

This book has given me all kinds of emotional roller coaster. Even I got lost into the depths of the characters that have been portrayed in this book and tbh I've enjoyed each and every minute of reading it. I always have a thing for guys named Killian and lo and behold Killian Astor didn't at all disappoint!! Or rather Clara did not disappoint!! This book will break your heart in this second and stitch back the pieces in a matter of minutes. Though Killian & Irena began their journey with hate, but gradually as they progressed, the understanding they had is just awesome. And them being there for each other is so heart-touching and wholesome✨
Their banter is the glue of the entire book that weaves the plotline impeccably and keeps you hooked till the last page (believe me, I wouldn't be surprised if you pulled an all-nighter😉)
When Irena fell for Killian first, she was so afraid to get her heart scarred, but the way Killian fell for her, is just *chef's kisses*
So, if you haven't already read the book, please do!! Or else you won't know what you're missing out on. Also, the epilogue is so wonderful!!✨

5/5⭐️
4/5🌶

tropes:
enemies to lovers
fake dating
forbidden romance

I don't even know from where to start, honestly. So I'll start with saying how excited I was for Killian and Irena. They were my most anticipated book couple and I knew that they'll make a hell of a sexiest book couple.
I rooted for them since I've read "Vow of Hell" and the fact that I had the opportunity to read their book before it came out for everyone was the biggest freaking pleasure🫶🏻.

I've finished "Sting of Ice" in less than 24 h and my life feels so complete right know because I had the opportunity to read about all my fav fictional couples.

The cat and mouse games between Kill and Ina made their chemistry and tension grew bigger and bigger until one of them needed to throw all the control they had and tried not to cross a fine line that was forbidden for them.

Did they tried to avoid each other and pull each other's strings until they break them?
Ohhh Hell, YES YES! The enemies to lovers between them was so freaking good that I was giggling like Ina while she enjoyed Killian's d!ck —ahem ahem ahem🫢—.

My heart hurt so much for the Killian's inner child and the trauma he went through. His soul is so kind and full of love, if I could.. I would give him the biggest hug ever. The fact that Ina was his light and that he didn't feel the urge to get drunk or to do drugs when he was with her just showed how deep their connection was.
And as Killian's trauma wasn't enough, he needed to go trough more and moreee and I was one second away to loose my shits. And to make this a slide note – is so not cute for us, readers to watch a side character die when he definitely made himself loved in our heart😭.

Irena's feistiness made her character be more stronger and her boldness was so sexy. The whole pull and push game that she had with Killian because of the attraction that they tried to fight over the years because they believed that is wrong for them to feel something for each other made their chemistry and sexual tension be like a bomb that could explode at any moment. I liked Irena so much since she was a teenager in her sister's book and I knew that her growing up and having her own will make me love her even more.
Her determination to not give up on her dream after her ex boyfriend and her rival made her lose her job, just proved how strong she was and the fact that she didn't let fake news that people were talking about her, I just know that made her stronger and more.

And let's not forget the way Killian described her:
"She had the grace of a butterfly, all dainty, long limbs, and a lithe body honed to perfection after years of grueling training to keep up with her figure skating regimen. I usually liked my women with a bit more meat on their bones, softer. But it wasn’t just looks that attracted me to this particular girl, although her strawberry blonde hair and ocean eyes certainly did not repel me either. It was that knowing glint in her eyes, the upward curl of her lips, and her inability to keep her mouth shut when I was around. To keep herself from fighting me on every little thing."
This simple thing, of how Kill was seeing Ina was my endgame. He could do any shits and it would not affect me and it would not change how I saw him.

And let's be honest, she didn't need Killian's help to get revenge on Daniel, but asking him for help was all her desire and God's work to made them realise how good they were for each other and we all need to thank Aria when she played cupid when she moved Irena in the same building as Killian and made them neighbors.

And as one more slide note, having scenes with Aria and Saint made me so so happy because I loved them so much and having Saint calling Ina "baby Fleur" as a nickname was so cuteeee. I knew I loved Saint, but watching him being a big brother for Killian in "Sting of Ice" made me love him more. He redeemed himself for real in this one❤️.

And know I want to thank you Clara for giving me the opportunity to read "Sting of Ice" before it came out. Love you and thank you for making me fall in love with the Astropolis Universe!❤️

”I got lost in your orbit, but I didn’t feel lost at all.”

Sting of Ice is a fake dating, forbidden romance in the City of Stars series and can be read as a standalone. It’s about Irena Fleur and Killian Astor, who have had an instant attraction since their siblings first got together. They ignored their feelings to avoid any family drama, but when Irena needs a fake boyfriend, the lines get blurred.

I have been interested in reading about these two since seeing hints of their connection in their siblings’ story. Irena has a mischievous personality that keeps the broody Killian on his toes. I think the fake dating trope was absolutely perfect for them and I loved seeing it progress from fake to real.

“I want what I can’t have, and I’m willing to take down the whole world to gain it…you.”

Killian Astor was a surprisingly character for me. I knew from the beginning I was going to like him since he is a broody tattoo artist that lives life how he wants. There were deeper parts to his back story and life that make you see him in a different light. He truly is such a kind, thoughtful person to everyone in his life, while also knowing when to be alpha male possessive with his girl.

Irena Fleur initially presented as a slightly immature figure skating star going through some boyfriend drama. I quickly learned she was not a conceited popular girl and she knows her self worth, aspirations, etc. She is the perfect counterpart to Killian’s personality and brings out the fun side of him. She also cares for him so deeply and would do anything to make him happy, which was refreshing as often its the male mc that makes that extra effort in books.

“You’re the best risk I’ve ever taken, Irena Fleur.”

Overall, Clara wrote another exciting, romantic, steamy, and touching story to add to the series. Her writing continues to improve with every book in this series and I haven’t met a character I disliked. Even though she caused me some heartbreak in this book, she set up the next book well and I am so intrigued to see where she takes these characters.

Wow, Clara Elroy's "Sting of Ice" concludes the series brilliantly, marking the end of an era. The narrative flows seamlessly, and the character development, especially with Killian and Irena, is executed with brilliance. Their story, my personal favorite in the series, weaves together elements of fake dating, forced proximity, friends-to-lovers, and forbidden love.

Killian and Irena's magnetic attraction simmered beneath the surface since their siblings got together. Suppressing their feelings to avoid family drama, they maintained a distance. However, Killian's over-the-top jealousy and possessiveness added a delicious layer to their dynamic. When Irena's world shattered due to her ex's betrayal, Killian became her fake boyfriend to salvage her reputation. The push and pull, coupled with steamy moments, made their journey painful, frustrating, and utterly captivating.

Killian's depth as a hardworking tattoo artist unfolds, revealing a gentle and supportive soul beneath his bad-boy exterior. Scenes between him and Luca are particularly heartwarming. A tragic accident tests their relationship, but with the help of family, Killian and Irena find their way back to each other. The inclusion of couples from previous books, especially Saint and Ariadne, adds a delightful layer to the narrative.

Now, Clara Elroy's "Sting of Ice" introduces Kill and Irena, becoming my new favorite characters. The anticipation of a Clara Elroy book always brings exhilaration, and "Sting of Ice" delivers on all fronts – from heartache to laughter, offering a whirlwind of emotions.

Irena emerges as a fiercely independent character who goes to great lengths for her loved ones. Despite her privileged background, she pursues independence with admirable determination. Killian, a man shaped by life's hardships, is sharp, demanding, and undeniably handsome. Though he occasionally irked, his resilience and clear desires earned back my admiration.

The book's exciting enemies-to-lovers slow burn romance, filled with angst and swoon-worthy moments, made "Sting of Ice" an irresistible read. Clara Elroy's impeccable writing kept me captivated, and I'm in awe of her knack for crafting stories that are both engaging and emotionally resonant. I eagerly anticipate Yazmin's story, confident that Clara will once again captivate with her storytelling prowess.

Woah! I think I just found my new fave Clara Elroy characters, Kill and Irena are…wow!

It’s always a great moment when I pick up a new Clara Elroy book, the excitement of not knowing what’s going to come and what emotions will follow it is exhilarating and honestly, Sting of Ice gave it all. The aching heart, the laughing out loud, just all the feels.

Irena is incredibly fierce and independent. She goes above and beyond for those she loves and even though she came from money she knew she wanted to be independent and fend for herself so she did. I absolutely adored that about her, she wanted something so she made it happen.

Killian, my heart hurt for this guy. He was wronged by life I guess you could say and that in turn made him the man he is today. Despite going through it though, he knows what he wants and he’s clear about it. He’s sharp, demanding and incredibly handsome.

Now I loved Killian, I truly loved everything about him but there’s a moment or two in this book when he irritated me over certain things but even though he did, he earned the love back. This guy was incredible considering the things he had to go through. I had a lot of admiration for that guy.

And I just have to say I can not wait to get Yazmin's story. I just know she's going to blow me away.

Sting of Ice was packed with all the fun bits. It’s an exciting enemies to lovers slow burn romance, filled with angst and accompanied with some major swoon worthy moments and I could not have loved it anymore than I did.

I have to say Clara Elroy truly outdid herself with this book and the characters. Her writing is impeccable and had me captivated from the get go. I am in awe of Clara and her incredible knack at writing stories that keep me hooked.

4.25 Lilith & Lucifer Stars! 💜

Having read the previous installments in this series i couldn't wait for more! As soon as this fourth book was announced i started looking forward to it right away. I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the City of Stars world! I really enjoyed this story!

Irena and Killian's journey pulled me in quickly! Irena and Killian have been in each other's lives for some time as Killian is Irena's sister's brother in law. After her boyfriend cheats on her and things get chaotic for her life and career, Irena is set on revenge. That's when Killian and a fake relationship with him come into play. Can they make it believable and ignore how they feel? Or can the real be worth the risk?

Both Irena and Killian captured my attention and didn't let go! I really liked the back and forth between these two and how they kept me entertained with every interaction. I didn't know how they'd tackle fake dating and everything else in their lives which had me glued even more so to them and their story.

I loved how i went through all kinds of emotions with Irena and Killian throughout. I admired how determined Irena was. The way Killian was with Irena had me falling for him. The chemistry between these two was undeniable and heat filled!

It was awesome being back in the City of Stars world and getting to reunite with familiar faces!

With Sting of Ice, Ms.Elroy has created such a great read that kept me turning the pages and feeling every bit! I can't wait to read what this author comes up with next! 💜

Thank you so much @claraelroy for sending me an ARC of this book.

The city of Stars series has been an absolute treat. I loved every single character.
I have to say I have been waiting for their book ever since we met them in Vow of Hell.
I adored Killian and Irena. Seeing how they grew as characters and experienced everything together was amazing. It was a bit slow initially but 30% in and I was hooked to their story.

There's this point in the book where my heart hurts for Killian but it felt perfect to see him heal as a person. It was a bit difficult for me to connect to his character but as we get to know his story it was much easier to fall in love with his character.

Irena was delightful, with the perfect mix of sass and sweetness.
These two made a great couple. Some characters give you the soulmate vibe and they were like that for me.

Also, I have to say the jealousy scenes in this book were top-notch.

It was great to see Saint and Aria again, and I enjoyed the scene between the Astor brothers, they deserved it for all they've been through.

Overall, I loved this series. I'm sad it's over, though I'm excited to read Yazmin's book.

Irena Fleur is a confident, fiery young woman who has no problem standing up for herself and going after what she wants.

Killian has that same blunt, authoritative and sometimes arrogant side meant to hide a heart of gold and a fierce sense of loyalty than his brother (Saint) which is exactly why both of the Astor brothers now own my heart.

The chemistry between Irena and Killian is insane. You immediately feel their passion for each other and the tension only grows from there, getting even better the more interactions they have… And the tension doesn’t dissipate once the couple gets together (or you know, hooks up) but it keeps building, getting more and more intense as it goes and keeps you hooked to the story until the end.

I love the fake dating trope as much as I love the forbidden love one but I never read a book that combines both tropes together before, it was extremely well done and well thought out. Every character is brilliantly written, with depth and flaws that makes them relatable and realistic.

This book made me laugh, blush and even cry my heart out. I loved that the couples from the other books were included in Irena and Killian’s own unique story.

In my opinion, out of all four books, this one has the spiciest scenes of them all. Or maybe it’s just because Irena and Killian are so good together. 🥵

I definitely recommend reading the entire series because its so good but if I had to pick only one to recommend, it would be this one. It has everything you could possibly want and more.

I don't know why I took so long to read this... when I knew it was going to be good. It's been sitting with me for months.
Oh, wait, I know now, because I'm not sure how I'm supposed to choose!
Ever since this author wrote her first book, I've been enthralled. And now, after installment no.4, I have an even more difficult decision. What book is my second favorite after KOW (because that will always be my favorite of favorites of all time)?
And then I have another dilemma... who is my favorite book boyfriend? Ok, fine, Leo from KOW is #1. And now, after reading Killian... I'm thinking he's #2? Sorry, Ares, sorry, Saint. Or maybe it's Ares and then Kill? I'm really not sure.

I am sad about Luca... no more like gutted. It hit me hard and came out of nowhere. I truly felt Kill's pain at the loss of his BFF... I was hoping he might get a book. He seemed interesting. But I did see Yasmin has a book... supper excited. Oh, and I'm also curious about Bea and Nicholas... will they get a book?

Before I end this, can we delve into the 10-hour sexy marathon??? I choose not to believe that she could possibly walk her cat (no, not an innuendo... she actually walked her cat... on a leash) the next day. I choose to believe that my man Killian is better than that. And after being bedridden, for at least 1 day... only then did Irena go for that walk. Or maybe the author meant that she wheeled herself around while walking her cat? I feel this part needs to be relooked at and edited... just saying. Killian's stamina is something to be marveled 😍🔥.

“You're the best risk I've ever taken, Irena Fleur.”

Clara Elroy has etched another emotional masterpiece! With writing full of fire, desire and depth, strong and compelling characters, and a soul-slashing forbidden romance storyline, Sting of Ice is a must read romance. A sparkling supernova of a story that bursts with heart and heat. This love story lured me in from line one and never let go until the end.

A heart-pounding love story laced with Sting of ICe is an enemies-to-lovers saga of soulmates and second chances at life. The hero and heroine are full of fire with a story so heady, so harrowing, so hopeful, and so heartfelt. Killian is that insanely god-like alpha, the make you weak-in-the knees hero who detonates with a single smolder. Oh did I smolder! Irena is Kill’s match in every way: smart, spirited and stunning. This heroine may have been more alpha than the dominating hero. I loved her!

I was destined to fall in love with Sting of Ice, a dazzling diamond that shines in the dark. This fake dating romance is filled with heart-racing moments and revelations. I felt everything: the butterflies and burning impact of first and forever love, the pain and pleasure, and the determination of soulmates to fight for that fated love that never died. I reveled in this book that burns like a fire-breathing dragon with a force felt everywhere. My kryptonite.

I LOVED THEM!

Killian and Irena met through their siblings (their siblings married each other) but Saint has always had the like “you can’t date her” vibe. But, Irena’s sister - Aria - on the other hand secretly wishes they were lmao….

Killian and Irena have always teased each other to the point where may think they hate each other. Then they become neighbors. Killian has the tendency to sabotage her dates with another neighbor. And there’s also that tiny little moment where they almost kiss and Killian leaves her apartment with another woman.

They are so infuriating with each other - they’re secretly pining for each other. Others would be blind to not see it. And so they begin fake dating. This “fake dating” starts to feel real. I loved every bit of their story. There was some sad scenes from Killian’s side that broke my heart. Irena is always trying her best to be there for him, and vice versa.

𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕:
• age gap
• boy + girl obsessed (mutual pining)
• explosive in the sheets👀😉
• forbidden romance
• forced proximity
• nemesis/friends to lovers
• grumpy x sunshine
• he falls first

if you like men who has a way with words, this is truly the book for you. at first glance, killian astor may come off as an asshole and a heartless player. but the more the story progresses, we see someone who’s ambitious, resilient AND a poetic romantic. he’s sweet with his words and i TRUST he’s the kind of man who will never get slapped for mouthing off on impulse.

irena fleur on the other hand, is resilient and prideful (in a good way). i love that she didn’t back down despite being shamed by half of the internet for throwing a cake at her ex n rival (deserved way more than that tbh) and never misses out on the opportunity to do right by herself. & truly as killian said, the fact that she’s loyal and defensive over everyone she cares for seals the deal for me. she’s the kind of girl who wouldn’t think much about putting herself on the line to save yours. & knowing the strain between their families, it just makes her more loveable knowing she has more than her heart to lose.

i love the chemistry between them, however, i do think the book is pretty fast paced and will probably get lost in the depths of the romance genre.

Sexy, possessive alpha with sassy, smart ass heroine, covered by all the steam and angst ? Sounds like a combo perfect. Sting of Ice by Clara Elroy is everything above.

Clara, like always delivers unique love story, filled with all consuming emotions and angst. Every time I start new book of hers, I can literally hear words in my head - expect what's unexpected, and oh boy.... Sting of Ice proves that Clara knows, how to take me by suprise, every single time. SOI's story line and characters are Clara Elroy's at the finest, I couldn't put this book down (pulling an all-nighter was an only option obviously haha).

I cannot tell You how many times, I wanted to jump into this book and steal Killian for myself... He is perfectly perfect with his grumpy attitude and angelic features, without any doubts! Kill owns my heart and Irena is one of the most amazing female characters, I've met in my bookish life. She's definition of modern, independent women these days, who can be the best inspiration for all of us.

Wow! That's all I can say!

I thought I had found my book man with Ares... then along came Killian Astor, and I began thinking 'Ares, who?'

Irena 'Lilith' Fleur is the one woman he shouldn't want. After all, his brother is married to her sister. That is, until she gets an idea that will benefit both of them.

Killian 'Lucifer' Astor stole her heart before she was old enough to want him. However, there was no way she could let him know how deep her desire goes. Will he even be interested in her plan to get the ultimate revenge on those who wronged her?

This is hands down Clara Elroy's best work. The angst and banter between them is absolutely STEEEAAAMMMY and their nicknames are spot on for what they show on the surface. The ultimate alpha-roll and the woman who shows him there is a mate for even the aptly named 'King of Hell'

Last book in the City of Stars journey and I must say, i'm not disappointed at all. I'm actually sad it has ended.
Killian and Irena's story was a curious one for me and I was so satisfied with their intense moments and chemistry. I know I said Ares and Serena's smut scenes were the best but I might have to retract that statement after reading this book. Forbidden romance, esp when it came to a couple like them, felt so raw and passionate, the "we know we shouldn't be doing this but fuck it, it feels so good not to" kind of zealous lust which soon turned into love. I felt like the pacing was amazingly written, with Irena's goal and Killian's backstory.
I really wished I also wished we had a last reunion with everyone in the end!

What a perfect way to wrap up this AMAZING series💗 Because Killian and Irena’s story was everything!

These two took it to a whole new level when it came to delicious tension. And that Banter! Keeping me completely hooked on their dialogue, loving the humour, digs and innuendos.

Their obsessive chase conflicted with their push and pull of resistance. At first, afraid of rejection and heartbreak but the more time they spent together chipped away at those insecurities.
And when they finally gave in to each other 🥵🥵🥵….They were absolute fire when it came to intimacy, perfectly matched to satisfy and experience what was possible.

Their personal issues and drama were completely different but their instinct to protect each other was equally fierce. Especially Kill, Damn he was hot when he went all Alpha! And Irena’s unwavering support showed how committed and strong she was. I loved how this story gave focus to how they grew into their individual confidence too.

I loved the brief appearances from my other fav characters from this series and the subtle leads into who is getting their story told next 😍

I read this book in almost one sitting. It was that good. Although Ares and Serena will always be my favorite couple from this series Killian and Irena came close to beating them. Ever since Vow of Hell I’ve been curious about the two and this book surpassed my expectations for their relationship. I loved how complex Killian was and I really enjoyed reading about his backstory and getting to know who he really was without the character he used in previous books. I also loved Irena and how confident she was while also being relatable in her insecurities at times. The romance between the two had me pacing my room (love a good slow burn) and yelling at my kindle. Killian and Irena are perfect for each other and this book did an amazing job of showing it.

This book is everything I could'e ever wanted. I was so excited to finally read Killian and Irena's story and Clara Elroy sure delivered.

This story is a maelstrom of swirling emotions, sucking the readers into its powerful vortex. It's a story that churns at warp speed, sweeping and lifting you right in the midst of all the drama, and commotion happening. It's raw, it's real, and it stole my heart. A piece is left behind in its pages somewhere, and I'm already missing Kill & Ina terribly.

I. Could. Not. Put.the. Book. Down!!!
Fascinating, compelling prose with endearing, magnetic characters. The blistering, steamy love stemming from trauma, sweet and tragic at the same time. It evokes poignance and distress early on.

The characters are different, complex, and interesting. I love Killian, he was so sexy, so focused, with a riveting personality. I also adored Irena, her fierce determination to help those she loved was everything. I loved the suspense, and the electrifying chemistry between them, wow, but I didn't expect it any other way. Clara Elroy is amazing at banter. They were so perfect for each other!!

This book is passionate, intense, intriguing, and emotional. Thanks to the author for giving us such emotional stories that inspire and allow us to dream and at the same time remind us to embrace our loved ones and that love is the force that always sustains us and leads us to be the best version of ourselves.

🦋 BOOK REVIEW 🦋

A poet hiding beneath the inked skin of a societally-dubbed bad boy. An ice queen with more drive and passion in her little finger than most have in their entire bodies.

Also a match made in Hell. The Lilith to his Lucifer.

This feels more like the start of a blurb than a review, actually but it still works. Sting of Ice is the perfect example of “last but not least”. It’s the fourth instalment of Clara’s City of Stars series and I have to say, a very satisfying wrap up of the series with subtle set ups for her next books.

Killian and Irena—what a pair. Driven, emotional and each their own person. I loved how their relationship was written and how it came to be. I do enjoy a good fake dating trope and this book was no different. The way they realized it had become more than just pretense was positively intense and mixed with t
just the right amount of angst that my heart could handle. Oh and the romantic scenes? I applaud you, Clar! Spicy, filled with tension, and a *little* kinky. Yes, please.

This book isn’t dark per se, it’s a contemporary romance but there are some darker themes here which was nicely woven into the story.

Anyways—a very satisfying romance with poetic symbolism and the perfect amount of spice and smut. Well balanced in terms of humor and more serious themes. First pov with dual narration. Would for sure recommend.

I was intrigued by both Killian and Irena since second book and was eagerly waiting for there book. I had an inkling that something might happen between them.

It was just the emotional rollercoaster I expected from Clara and just like all the previous book in the series worth loosing the sleep. The whole journey tugs at your heart strings and evoke deep emotions.

Killian and Irena won my heart and I absolutely loved there banter. Knowing there heartbreak, pain, sorrow, broke my heart. The angst had me on the edge of the seat and the spice was enough to melt my kindle.

I loved how the series ended but at the same time I'm already missing them.

Thanks to Clara for the advanced copy.

Spice meter: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Damn, this book is long, but I finished it in a day😩 it’s just that good. The plot is there, with enough suspense and angst to keep you entertained when there’s no banging happening, and I love how each characters shone in their different ways.

Even the asshole cheating ex boyfriend played his part excellently without being overbearing, and the “mean” new girlfriend was funny enough😂

I love how this is not an enemies to lovers but more like “I desperately want you but I shouldn’t so I should act like I hate you” type of love😩

I’ll say everything but then I’ll spoil the fun for you, so go read it!!

WOW Honestly this is my first time reading Clara Elroy's book and- not to sound dramatic - this book made me forget that I was even reading. Normally I don't enjoy forbidden romance so much but this book was an exception. Forbidden and fake relationship!! who can even ignore that!!

Their dynamic was totally everything I look for! Killian's craving for Irena made me so happy. I loved how they went from various emotions to finally set and getting HEA! The chemistry between these two was undeniable and heat filled!

Now I need to read Vow of Hell for sure!!
