This is a beautifully illustrated book about flowers from around the world. The photos and illustrations are almost full page, with the exception of some small space for text, which is a flower lovers dream. And the embossed poppies on the cover of this book are to die for! While I was familiar with many of the flowers within this book, I was thrilled to discover many varieties that I had neither seen nor heard about before.

My only caveat is that just about all of the flowers mentioned in this book are non-native to North America. Most are native to Europe, Asia, and Africa.

I've spent this year reading a page of this book every morning while I eat breakfast.
A calm, soothing way to start the day and learn some interesting facts, myths and legends about flowers.

Not something I would usually go for but I really enjoyed it!

It took me a while to read this as I was consumed by health issues. I did enjoy reading about all the different flowers. Many of them I knew and have grown in my yard, but quite a few were new to me. The only criticism I have is that some flowers I consider invasive, they did not list as invasive.
