Who dares look the Devil in the face and tell him he’s the Devil?

A vast trove of secret documents. A worldwide conspiracy that dates back generations. Enemies who will stop at nothing.

Max Austin has secured the Vienna Archive, an extensive hoard of secret documents that exposes the underbelly of the Russian empire. He's desperately seeking answers. Answers to help him end his family's nightmare. The answers elude him, and the archive puts a gigantic target on his back.

Pursued by the world's most elite intelligence agencies, Max puts into motion a brazen plan to end the kommissar's threat to his sister and nephew once and for all. From the icy backwoods of Finland to the corrupt streets of Moscow and finally to the civil war battlefields of Virginia, Max fights to stay alive long enough for his plan to unfold. With his back against the wall, he makes a deal with the devil in a desperate attempt to end the game forever. It's a deal he may come to regret.

Will the archive unlock the Asimov family secrets and give Max the ammunition he needs to ensure his family's safety before his father’s past catches up to him?

According to the author this is the end! I must say first of all I have really enjoyed The Russian Assassin series by Jack Arbor. Endgame is the latest in the story about ex assassin Max Austin. Max has been on the hunt and been hunted since his father was killed and the rest of his family where threatened. Will everything be resolved in the Endgame? well the book is soon on the shelves at various bookstores and you have to get it and read it yourself to find out. I do however recommend that you start from the beginning and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Arbor do know how to tell a story. I have been one of the team of advance readers getting the books from the author and it has been a great journey following in Max footsteps. I am also excited to hear what Jack will write next.

Max has poured over the Vienna Archive searching for clues as to who is the head of kammissariat. The Chinese want it for the treasure trove of information it contains on the KGB. If they want it, it’s a forgone conclusion that Kate Shaw wants it for the CIA. She is quite fed up with Max and the rest of the Asimov family. Hang on to your seats as the action is really intense. Before Max’s father died, he collected thousands of pages of information on operatives all over the world. Kate is the only chance the CIA has of winning the race to the Vienna Archive. There are clandestine operations going on all over the place, and all of them pointed at Max. It is a matter of what they are willing to do to get what they want and how much they under estimate Max. Because it is obvious all of them have. This has been a terrific series and this is an exciting end to it.

Incredulous?

When I picked up Book One that’s what I thought. So it was an internal dare that made me read about Max. But as I read and was engrossed in the things that happened and the things Max did I moved from “incredulous” to “awe!”
I thoroughly enjoy the master spy genre and I read about 5 or 6 novels a year in hat vein. I also love dystopian-apocalyptic books and read about the same number of them. So, I want to encourage you to pick up Max Austin and be awed at a master spy at work! Oh, and it takes a “team” to get through the things Max does so “kudos” to Goshawk, and all those who play a big part in Max’s victories.

Closure for Max

Jack, I am always amazed at your attention to detail. I have enjoyed very much all of the books in this series. The Endgame put me comfortably at closure for Max. I would recommend not only this book, but the entire series to anyone who wants to go on an incredible adventure of suspense and intrigue. Great job if this is Max's last episode, however, hopefully there will be more. Thanks for the thrill of riding along with Max.

I really really enjoyed these books. “Russian assassin “ didn’t sound appealing but my Aunt assured me I would love these books. She was right! In fact, I thought the 6th one was out a few months ago & have been chomping at the bit for the sixth one. Did NOT disappoint! I Rarely write a review. This is an exception. I read a lot of books & many different genres. Highly entertained. More Max please. ( thank you Mr Arbor)

An History and Geography Lesson

I loved the stories but, also the lessons of Russian and surrounding countries historical facts, areas I have never been to and the places Max went to had me looking at maps and google earth.
I am in love with Kate I hope she is happy after all she went through.
Well done Jack and in all the series I only found one “typo” Donald Reagan!
He was better suited as a Donald though.
I will miss Max.

I Really Like This Guy

Max is real. I understand him and relate to the loyalty and love he has for his family and friends. He’s a man of his word. Yet his actions speak louder.

I’m torn between seeing him in another adventure and letting him enjoy the rest he richly deserves.

Can we have both?

This book is excellent. But first you have to read books 1-5. Max is as good as he can bee while hunting down the criminal who has caused him and his family so much pain. With the help of old allies and new ones he gets it done.
I hope Jack does not quit writing he is a really good writer. Whether its more Max or someone new I will definitely read it.

Surely a bit of a surprise ending. This was a long series, quite descriptive yet jumped along the plot line -which was complicated and with many surprises. This was different from any series of books I have read. It was informatively written- would call Jack Arbor very knowledgeable and I would like to read more books by this author.

what a satisfying six novels

After a terrible house fire, my mind needed a wonderful escape. The writing was suburb. Each novel was great on its own. The series together was a masterpiece. I will miss Max.
