wasn't the most artfully written or curated, but i appreciate the collection for existing. there were a startling number of nepo babies, which made the book difficult to draw inspiration from. main takeaways: stay true to who you are and what you're passionate about, major life-altering setbacks will happen but they are possible to overcome, be consistently loud and bold about your ability + passion and opportunities will come.
I love this book. I got inspiring stories from women who have "been there done that" and succeeded by following their passions AND got a visual treat with the amazing photographs of these women in an environment that captures their spirit. I think this would make a wonderful gift for any woman (and yourself) and especially for young women trying to figure out who they are in the world. There are no limits is the message here! Most importantly, these women have dealt with a lot of hard things in their lives and persevered, and I think we can all be inspired by that.
I was lucky to receive an advanced reader copy of this gorgeous book. Wisdom of Wildly Creative Women is a beautifully written, inspiring tribute to incredible women who dared to trust their creative spark—and find their authentic voice—despite facing hardship and adversity. If you’re looking for a book that will inspire you to use your creative power, this is it.
The stories and photography are incredible! I bought several copies for the women in my life.
First, I just have to comment on how beautiful the cover is. The book is displayed like artwork in my office on my bookshelf. I loved how Angela LoMenzo weaved together these women’s stories with the beautiful photography to help me as the reader feel even more connected to these women. Without spoiling anything this book shows to power of women’s creative spirits and what happens when passion is the guide. It’s a great gift for encouraging women to see how special they are.
Such as a fantastic line-up of beautiful, powerful, and artistic female role models in this book! From fashionistas to rock 'n' roll sirens to modern-day priestesses, all the fabulous women profiled are also very real, and they all shine a brilliant, bright light to prove that fulfillment and success (in all dimensions) are the rewards for daring to be creative and unique in a cookie-cutter world. PS: The layout and images in this book are as beautiful as the women profiled!
“I cannot be separated from this or from you. Our many hearts have only a single beat”
What a lovely book encouraging women to come back home to self. I have recently been inspired by older women who have lived fearlessly and have been open about their journey of self actualization. Extra special that a lot of stories feature people in Los Angeles where I currently reside.
