For too many years, career obligations and cultural expectations cost Mikisaburo Nabeshima the possibility of love.

Now older, wiser, and infinitely more alone, personal business takes Miki back to New York where another chance encounter with another handsome policeman rouses suppressed desires.

David Kirkland is a brash young cop who grew up on New York’s meanest streets. When the man he believes killed his foster mother is set free, Dave vows revenge. If he needs to leave the country and go undercover with a sexy but infuriating older man then so be it, though he never expected the business arrangement to turn personal.

As Dave confronts a deep-seated need he’s never fully acknowledged, the killer they're after proves more deadly than they anticipate.

Barbara Sheridan grew up a fan of historical novels, TV westerns and most anything having to do with the paranormal.
She often writes in the romance sub-genres of contemporary, historical, and paranormal.

She also acquired a fondness for all things royalty related, J-rock, and cheezy films. These varied interests mashed themselves together to shape her writing and led to characters who surely inhabit an alternate universe–and get into who knows what trouble without her supervision.

Barbara lives in Pennsylvania and loves hearing from readers and others who share her interests, as well as being able to “meet” them via social media.

3.5 stars. I want to give this book more but I felt betrayed by the handling of Miki and Ray's relationship in this second book. I feel like the author threw it away to find a sub for Miki. It may have made Miki and Ray's relationship more realistic but realism isn't what I expect from a couple after I close the book. I expect HEA or even HFN that you know will leave everyone stronger in the end. By the end of the book Miki seems to trivialize his relationship with Ray in a way that made me want to throw something. It was so unnecessary.

If you haven't read the first book, this one will be a great read without any conflicted feelings and you will be able to follow along. The interaction between Miki and David is scorching. The D/s is strong and I loved the texting scenes and wish they could have been a bit longer and more edgy.

It seems that, based on several of her books, she likes to put her men in drag. In this case it was well done but the cop mystery was weak and way too easily and coincidentally solved. It was really a means to bring David into D/s situations. Since I am not a fan of twisting and turning cop procedurals it wasn't a bad thing that this part of the story was easy and fairly quickly wrapped.

It was a truly hot read. I just wish she had made Miki and Ray a happy couple somehow and brought in new players or a third to look at a D/s relationship from this angle.

Wonderful follow up as an aged and lonely Miki returns to NY to mourn the loss of a dear friend.
Miki Habeshema
Over the years,Miki has been promoted and is now one of the highest ranking officials in the Tokyo PD. Unexpectedly Miki stumbles across a serial killer living in NY that has also committed rape and murder in Tokyo. Miki enlists the help of a young officer, David, to help bring the killer to justice. David is also mourning the recent loss of two loved ones. A mother figure and his lover.

Miki and David's attraction couldn't be denied. Miki then introduced David to the world of BDSM and things really got hot.

I really enjoyed this sequel even though it felt a little rushed with far too many coincidences. 3 stars because I wanted so much more information and time with David and Miki. I always say that's a compliment to a novella. But I still love Miki's character. He is an amazing alpha male and I would love to read more about Miki teaching David BDSM and watching them grow as a couple.

Update: This is not a stand alone book. Must read Beautiful C*cksucker 1st.

It took me 3 years to get to this sequel. Maybe that should have been a warning. Book one was notable for its cross-cultural appeal, I liked the plot and the guys and the title. But it got 3 stars from me mostly because it was way too short.

So what made me return to Miki Nabeshima’s world? I remember the hard-ass Japanese cop who hid a cross dressing Dom persona. So beautiful, so sure of himself even those twenty years younger. So ridiculously hard to resist for the American cop he was teamed to work with then, Raymond Watts.

Ray is gone now, killed in the line of duty (A big surprise, that.) Miki had turned Ray onto the BDSM life and I was hoping that they’d pick things up again. But Miki, now a Tokyo-based detective on the rise, is lonely in a marriage of convenience and back in NYC to set his son up in college. He meets David Kirkland, a hot-headed cop on a serial murder case with connections to Japan.

Miki pretty immediately recognizes a submissiveness in David and jumps right in, bossing him around. It’s supposed to be hot but it’s all too quick, too soon, and kinda cold. Once again, it’s slam bam thank you, ummm… man… I think this author has the chops to deliver something really great, but what’s the big hurry? We are rushed through Miki and David’s simmering attraction and it all falls rather flat.

Behavior that should have been teased out is thrown at us. Miki needs a sub and David is available. That about sums it up. Irritating and frustrating. Any hotness that flares between these two just fizzles to emptiness. Disappointing.

Yowza! Miki was my favorite character from the first Copsucker book and he's back in full force in C*cksucker II.

Barbara Sheridan really created a yummy character in Miki. He's such a delicious Dominant with a heart.

Miki is a Japanese detective whose case brings him back to NY. Again, like 20 years ago, he sees a young detective, Dave, who grabs something in him and he seduces this detective.

Like the last book, the focus is more on Miki, who he is, than his partner. But it's all good since Miki is such a complex character.

As both Miki and Dave work together to find the killer of Dave's surrogate mentor/ mother, Miki shows Dave that what he really likes is being a sub.

One of the reasons I loved this book so much is that Barbara Sheridan really pulled off the D/s relationship between Miki and Dave in a way that worked for me. When it comes to BDSM themed or D/s relationships, I often get turned off because I think many authors don't know how to pull that off without the Dom being controlling jerk, or it coming across as too ridiculous and laughable. In this book though, I totally loved it as neither character took their end too far and became a caricature.

I've read quite a few of Barbara Sheridan's books and one thing that strikes me through most of them and this one as well, is that there's a subtle tongue-in-cheek quality to her stories and characters, which I felt again in this book. It's almost like her characters don't take themselves too seriously, but are written in a very realistic way.

She also managed to be so creative in this book. I mean Miki dressing as a woman, in both the last book and this book, to seduce a man and looking so hot while doing so and... having Dave be her pet in a sting, was just so outrageous and delicious.

Hawt smexxing with a HFN love story ending made this book a fun, juicy read!

HOT~an understatement. ROMANTIC~to the extreme.

BCII was funny, fast-paced, and delightfully wicked. When I got toward the end, where Miki's putting on that show (or is he) for the killer, I about died. The way he took control of Dave had me busting my virtual zipper.

Throughout the book, Sheridan shows a LOT of both Dave and Miki's internal dealings without turning the story to sap. BRAVO, in my opinion.

I have to say, I was hesitant about reading this. Sheridan has a way with killing off her characters, some of my favorites too. Honestly, I was surprised. I think Sheridan did a wonderful job providing closure to the Miki/Ray relationship from BCI.

I see the potential also for a series with Miki's son in the future, and perhaps another story with Dave and Miki. Miki of course will have to die sooner or later if the author sticks to her usual realism. Let's face it. Miki's a...what did Dave call him? Yeah. That's it. A "ye-ye".

I dunno, it seems as though there were missing pieces. Like, what happened to Ray? His residence is at the cemetery now. And Miki's son, um...never mind. This book happened ten years later and no follow-up as to how Ray died. Did I miss something is the story? Should I re...no...leave it alone. The textsex was indeed good. Well anyways, time for a sack and crack wax.

A few too many headdesk moments to really enjoy this. Why does an administrative level Japanese policeman on holiday, out of uniform, and WAY out of jurisdiction, not to mention in a time and location where you have to pass through a metal detector, have handcuffs with him? Why does a woman get killed in a way highly specific to the role of the other victims of this method when she has absolutely no connection to the reasons for the others, except to draw the other protag into the story? Why is it a good idea to rely on the judgment of someone who's getting extreme mindgames played with him? Why is all of a sudden it's a good idea to make what has been a big and career-breaking secret part of the investigation on home turf? When the Churchlady invades a story saying, "because it's conveeeeeenient!" it kind of spoils the read.

The sex was hot and plentiful, but plot is not the dull stuff between sex scenes.

Oddly, I think I would have liked this book better if I hadn't read Beautiful C*cksucker I.

I absolutely loved Barbara's Beautiful C*cksucker. That said, had I taken the time to read the blurb for Beautiful C*cksucker II, I might have chosen not to read it. What a big mistake that would have been! Good thing I saw it and bought it without even reading the blurb! On the surface, Beautiful C*cksucker II has many elements that are not my cup of tea. (Lead over 50, potential for daddy issues, death of a key character, HFN ending...) In reality, the story was everything I like and then some. Wow!

It's been decades since we last saw Miki. He is older, tired and lonelier than ever before. He is also at a cross-road in his personal life. For the first time in many years, he has true freedom to choose his path. When the search for a deviant criminal pairs him with young, gay and handsome cop David Kirkland, the outcome is predictable, the journey is not.

I was blown away by Barbara's portrayal of Miki, now 54 years old. I was afraid I would struggle to recapture the aura, sexiness and downright beauty that characterized Miki in Beautiful C*ocksucker. Boy was I wrong. Barbara skillfully paints a picture of a more mature Miki whose physical beauty has only changed not diminished, whose magnetic appeal has only gotten stronger, and whose personality has been polished by diverse (sometimes undesirable) life experiences from brash abandon to carefully restrained control. My heart hurt for Miki's past and soared on the possibilities for his future. This character will stay with me for a long, long time.

David's character, while not as deeply developed, was a joy to read. His beautiful awakening to submission was not the overly drawn out affair I have read in other stories, but rather a subtle internal struggle aided greatly by his sense of duty. His insecurities were realistic and done in just the right measure. He is the perfect combination of strong man and sexual submissive, a fitting lover for Miki.

This story really hit the spot for me. Barbara, you rocked my world in a very unexpected way. Thank You! Please, please, please tell me we will see more of Miki, even if it is only a short. I really want to experience his HEA.

If you like BDSM, yaoi and sexy older men, buy this book now!

This one didn't really seem connected to the first one other than the common character of Nabeshima. It actually kind of reminds me of Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, since I always wondered what the hell happened with Vittoria (I read A&D first, so I knew Vittoria first)

It's actually been a while since I've read this, so I'm writing based on vague impressions.
I think they do mention what happened with Ray, but I did rather like Ray...

Enjoyed the first book, was happy to see the characters again, many years later. I enjoyed reading about the older Miki and the murder investigation was interesting. But I couldn't quite buy that new guy was going to leave his life in the US behind, but I guess it could work.

In short, good: fascinating main character
In short, bad: major suspension of disbelief required to swallow some aspects of the plot.
