James Patterson delivers another great book. I must say I was in total shock to find out the real killer. This is a true mystery that Tom of a lawyer had me fooled even Kate who thought she wouldn't forgive him for breaking her heart five years ago. Hush Kate its life just when you think your heart cannot be broken again it shatters in a million and one pieces. Keep the books coming James cannot wait for the next book.

Former NYPD Homicide Detective, now Major Jeremiah Cook leads a team of Military Investigators looking into the particularly heinous murders of the occupants of a drug house ~ seven people, including a 2 year old child. Four Army Rangers have been arrested almost immediately for the crime & all evidence appears to point to their guilt.

Enter Major Cook & his team to double-check the circumstances in the case only to be thwarted at every turn. Corrupt authorities in the little Georgia town are unwilling to assist the Major's team & Maj. Cook eventually discovers the corruption reaches far beyond the borders of the town, the county & even the State of Georgia ~ all the way to Washington DC & beyond!

The Army investigators are threatened, misled & almost killed more than once, but the Major will not give up his search for the truth ~ even when it takes him all the way back to Afghanistan, where he was almost killed during his tour of duty.

This book is fast-paced & a good read. It does become a bit frustrating during Maj. Cook's unauthorized return to Afghanistan, overcoming his own nightmares & dealing with all the red tape necessary to reach the one individual stationed in Afghanistan who can give him the truth regarding the four accused Rangers waiting back in Georgia. The Reader wants to HELP Cook reach his goal but that's not possible, so one must let things works out at the storyteller's own pace!

Read this one in two sessions! Good one!

Beach Road - 3⭐
I went in expecting a run of the mill crime novel but was pleasantly surprised at how witty this novel was. The final plot twist near the end was perfect also.

A little on the weird side, it had funny moments and others I found really dragged. A little too far out for me.

The Beach Road was a nice sequel to The Beach House. Lots of surprises. Interesting summer read, lightweight and fast. Good vacation read!

I liked this book. It was written with the characters speaking themselves. Different from other patterson books. But still a surprise ending

Not something I would have chosen, enjoyed the read. Maybe a little slow in places.
