Then It Rained is an excellent children’s book showcasing the weather during our typical west coast winters ~ Rain, Rain & More Rain! The story is crafted in catchy and clever lyrics. There is a wonderful message in the story: ‘To create experiences where kids can be kids and not allow rain or anything else to spoil the fun of childhood'. I found it to be a great reminder for adults to recall what it's like to be a child and then recreate similar experiences that allow more fun & freedom to be enjoyed with our own children. After reading the story you can’t help but want to put on your gumboots and raincoat and get out and have some fun in the rain. We enjoy getting out in the rain regularly and prefer the fresh air and fun to being cooped up inside any day! My boys love this story, it is also available on the iBookstore (a narrated version).

Then it rained was written by the very talented Crystal Stranaghan. Crystal has a collection of other engaging stories and early reader chapter books, for more info visit her website at: http://crystalstranaghan.com/

The vibrant illustrations were created by Rosa Espadaler. I definitely recommend this story for your own families or as a perfect addition to a child’s library for Christmas.
