Okay its been a real long time since I logged in at good reads and less time, but still a good while since I read this. As noted this is the second volume of Sperber's memoir. It picks up after the 1918 revolution in Vienna is over and sees his friendship with Alfred Adler the psychologist develop alongside Sperber's initial fascination with revolution and his decision to join the Communist party and ultimately move to Berlin. It ends with him fleeing the Nazis after having been imprisoned.

Like the first volume it provides an excellent glimpse into the period while Sperber's psychological training adds a depth and reflection that is often missing in such memoirs.
