What a book! I cannot read about the horrors of the holocaust without feeling an immensity of grief for what the Jews endured at Hitler's hands. Still, the overwhelming message of this story is that God conquers all. God is always present, and always wants to give us the strength we need to overcome whatever we are facing. I can't imagine that anyone could read this without being moved and inspired.

I found this book both incredibly interesting and heartbreaking. The years leading up to Hitler's rise in Germany were not something I knew a lot about. The economic distress for the middle class and the poor. Hitler's ability to manipulate the situation This book also enlightened me on the persecution of the Christians as well as Jews in Nazi Germany. This book was a hard read but important to remember and never forget.
