After being rediscovered in the mysterious forest of New Caledonia in 1994, the Crested Gecko, 'Rhacodactylus ciliatus'. With their wide-eyed, prehistoric look, huge triangle shaped heads, and froglike antics, they are quickly becoming the "gecko of choice" for reptile hobbyists. This is the first comprehensive book available giving detailed information on all aspects of keeping and breeding a healthy Crested Gecko. Covers hatchling and adult care, housing, feeding, and breeding, plus many representative photographs of the various beautiful morphs. The author has drawn on her background of science education with over 30 years of herpetocultural experience specializing the last 15 years in Leopard Geckos and Crested Geckos.
Only missing a star because it's a little out of date, but the majority of the information provided is still relevant, and this is a good option even for modern-day beginner Crestie keepers. The notes at the end on each of the other Rhacodactylus species were interesting and the photos were beautiful and helpful for comparison between male & female, etc. Getting the history on Repashy's beginning was a neat little surprise bonus, as well.
Overall this is a good reference for crested gecko care, though there are a few typos in the Kindle edition and the information gets repetitive if you read straight through it. That's a perk if you're looking for a specific bit of information or a refresher, though, because it means you don't have to go skipping all over the book.
Because it some good parts and some bad parts the good news is that it was awesome the bad part is that it has pictures it should be a chapter books instead of a picture book
