Wish there was more information on hoof cleaning and care, but overall a good guide!

A basic guide for horse handling and grooming including the tools and their purposes.

What I liked: the pictures! Step by step pictures of everything; they are wonderfully detailed and specific. What I didn't like: the show grooming is a little dated (yeah, even grooming has "fashions" and styles) and the braiding styles have changed.

No content issues.

Horse Handling & Grooming
Cherry Hill

I was a little hesitant about how much I would really gain from reading a book like this. Grooming right? How hard is that? I assumed it was a read for people that haven't got a clue. But Cherry Hill is a great author and has never disappointed me before, so I picked it up, and couldn't put it down! :)

I'm shocked to say, that even though it's a book about basic equine care, she has included some really great tips and tricks that I've never heard before (in 11 years of riding). I'm excited to see how I can apply some of these to my own horses!

For beginners, she does talk about some of the safest ways to handle and be around horses. Step by step tips on how to safely approach, catch, clip, bathe, etc with your horse. Love the safety!
