Hush-a-bye Bedtime Tales

As the sun begins to set behind the treetops, all the little creatures who live in one very large tree settle down to sleep for the night. The baby birds, the baby squirrels, and the baby mice all snuggle up in their nests. Even the baby rabbits in a nearby burrow are ready for sleep. But far out on a tree branch, one very unusual baby animal is wide awake and making a lot of noise. The mothers and fathers of the baby birds, squirrels, mice, and rabbits decide that they should try singing and rocking the noisy baby to sleep, but all their efforts fail. It's a baby owl-and owls always sleep during the day, then stay awake the whole night through. The first half of the story was well written and made for a good bedtime story. The second half of the story on the other hand was a bit out of place.

Old-school bedtime story (more text than is currently popular). I liked it very much, especially the way the youngest animals gather, and I LOVED the illustrations. They make me want to learn to draw.
