I've been vegetarian since January 1st but this was a great read. SO many tips, recipes, and useful information included in this book. I'd certainly recommend this to anybody who is trying or even considering a vegetarian lifestyle.
It's a good book if you're looking into going vegetarian. It has good information on nutrition specifics, how to approach going vegetarian even for different age groups. She takes the dogmatic approach on milk (humans aren't supposed to drink cow's milk, ignoring the fact that most people with Scandinavian descent do have the mutation needed to digest cow's milk well). However, if you're concerned about wheat and its link to autoimmune diseases, I would look elsewhere for recipes.
I bought this book because I wanted some more information on being a vegetarian. My goal is to be flexitarian by the end of the year , and egg and dairy free by the end of 2021. I found this book to be a great start if you’re new to vegetarianism. I plan on doing some research on local coops because of the book.
Simple language, and a good mix of both recepies and actual information on nutrition, exactly what I wanted out of it! Only complaints, some things got repetitive, it was inconsistantly using "she" or "he" instead of "he or she" which was annoying and improper. Should have been fixed in editing!
Buena organización, para empezar a estudiar como cambiar habitos. Yo soy medica, y un poco mas de detalle en la primera seccion, donde se desarrolla la nutricion. Pero se recomienda, buena eleccion para primer libro sobre el tema.
As I'm considering a more plant based diet, this book had great tips and gave me a lot of confidence. In one chapter it gives you a chart on how to ease into being a vegetarian in 12 months. For those interested in being a vegan, it also addresses that. Sections I appreciated most were how to handle social situations, their approach to framing different philosophies on being vegetarian and how to watch your nutrients particularly if you are an athlete.
This book gave me some good introductory information about the vegetarian lifestyle. The author definitely had some political views that I was surprised to see in a book like this. I was also a little bit disappointed in the selection and amount of recipes. I'll be looking for more books to help with vegetarian meal planning.
Was trying a vegetarian diet due to illness. After I started this book I found out what my food allergies are and stopped reading. Does have good information for those who would like to eat a vegetarian diet. My diet is only part vegetarian as I avoid eggs, cow dairy, pork and shellfish.
This book is full of good advice and easy recipes. I'm sure I will be referring back to it often, as I am just beginning my journey of becoming a vegetarian. :)
