The New Greek-English Interlinear New Testament contains a literal word-for-word English rendering of the Greek text in interlinear form. A parallel column of the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) accompanies the interlinear text. Numerous textual notes are also included. The New Greek-English Interlinear New Testament is the newest interlinear translation that uses the UBS4/NA27 text.
Books can be attributed to "Anonymous" for several reasons:
* They are officially published under that name * They are traditional stories not attributed to a specific author * They are religious texts not generally attributed to a specific author
Books whose authorship is merely uncertain should be attributed to Unknown.
Like so many others these days, typically I resort to an online interlinear option when I want to check the Greek text. However, I bought this New Testament basically to replace the multiply pre-owned, pre-loved interlinear NT I used for my seminary classes. The page layout is convenient, with a readable font size, and it's good to have the familiar NRSV text we use so often in worship and everyday study.
This bible presents a great look at how the Greek text is laid in the scripture. Right below the Greek text, one finds the English. Often there won't be a direct translation from Greek to English on some of the phrases so one will fine square brackets where English text is inserted to make the English more readable. Interestingly enough when one finds the square bracketed text, it corresponds with the actual translation found in the NRSV. At other times the order of words will seem a bit out of order but it’s how it was formed in Greek. It's great to see the actual Greek, and if you can read Greek or are learning Greek this is a good reference for learning or referring to the Greek scriptures of the New Testament. It's currently one of my reference books. It also has cross references where appropriate to old testament verses. However you will need a separate Bible to be able to look up the verses as this bible only covers the new testament.
