When some people hear that I teach peacemaking, they assume it's pacifism. Not necessarily. However, this summer, when I had the privilege of staying in the home of a pastor of a church in the pacifist tradition, his first question was, "Domestic or international?" Here was someone who knew his terms. I enjoyed being introduced to the thinking of peace churches from the inside. And,he gave me copy of this book. Thanks, Pastor Scot.

I'm not convinced yet, but I understand better both the spectrum of types of pacifists and the bases for their convictions. Chapter Four by Glenn A. Robitaille has been the most helpful. I have not read the later sections because I was only interested in the Biblical principles appealed to for the pacifist case. Testimonies are interesting and inspirational but not convincing in terms of "what's true."
