Twenty-four year old Norah Stevens is looking to start over after a frightening experience calls into question the faith she once had in the power of love. Landing her own column in the local paper. Norah dives right into the rhythms of life in Misty Harbor, though her first encounter with log home builder Ned Porter leaves her a bit shaken. A giant of a man, Ned usually feels awkward around petite women--and five-feet-nothing Norah, whom he discovers snooping around his yard in search of her mom's dog--is no exception. Norah's obvious fear of him is disconcerting at first, but Ned soon discovers that while Norah may be tiny, she has vast reserves of determination. And Norah realizes that Ned. who is as gentle in nature as he is large in stature, might just be the perfect man to help her rebuild her life--if she can let him into her heart

This is another story about a woman being wary of men after having been hurt by one. Norah's father was abusive, but only of her mother. When she found out, he hit her as well, instigating a divorce. Since then, she hasn't trusted men or dated. Ned is interested in her from the start but doesn't want to be because he wants a strong, sporty woman who will enjoy hiking and camping, whereas Norah is very petite and girly. Still, they eventually start dating and Norah slowly gets over her issues. In the meantime, her mother finds love with a local artist.

It was ok. The writing was fine and the story was cute I guess, but it was nothing special. To be honest, I like stories with serious abuse and trauma. Here, Norah just gets smacked once, but she makes such a big deal of it. I know, I know, it was her dad who broke her trust... Whatever.

Norah, her mother, and Zsa Zsa (the dog) just moved to Misty Harbor for a fresh start. Norah is a spunky journalist hired to write controversial pieces for the local paper. Ned Porter is a big, strong, logger whose parents live next door to Norah. While checking in on his parents house one night, Ned meets Norah and ZsaZsa in the backyard of his parents house. The difference in their size is one thing, but the fear in Norah's eyes when she looks at Ned is something else. Norah has obviously suffered some abuse in her past and Ned wants to know who did it. As the relationship grows, Norah's stories hit a little close to Ned's home.

Sweet story. This was the first book in the Misty Harbor series I read originally and I've picked up and read all but one of the others. They are all nice stories with usually 2 romances per book. This one had newcomers Norah and her mother, Joanna, finding a new home and love.

Misty Harbor is a great town and I really enjoyed getting to know the Porter family this time around.

When a petite young woman and her divorced mother move to Maine, they each meet interesting men who are complete opposites of themselves.

A cute, humorous small-town love story. Evanick's upbeat story lines will make you laugh out loud. Highly recommend.

I feel like a broken record when I talk about any of these books or the whole series. The stories remind me a lot of “Virgin River,” by Robyn Carr, but sweeter and I look forward to all my favorite places in the book. You are going to love the Porter Family

I have enjoyed all her books so far but this one was not my favorite. Good idea for a story but some un-interesting fluff.

I love Marcia Evanick's romance books. Love that the location is in Maine, I think that adds to the romantic feel. Her stories don't ramble and aren't drawn out.

Continuing story of the inhabitants of Misty Harbor, ME. 24 year old Norah Stevens and her mom Joanna have recently moved to Misty Harbor to start new. Joanna's husband had repeatedly physically abused Joanna. When Norah walked in on it one night, he attacked her. Now divorced, both women are ready for a new start. Norah's been hired by the local paper to write a weekly column about some controversial topic. at 5'1" maybe, she's physically not up to confronting the huge fisherman that complains about her first column. Her neighbors - almost all over 6' come to her rescue. Ned Porter is huge compaired to Norah, but the sparks fly.

Some of the characters from the other books are present, but it's not necessary to have read them - stands alone. Small amount of sex.
