Misty Harbor #6

A Misty Harbor Wedding

Rate this book
On the coast of Maine, a tiny fishing village is home to people of strong character–and even stronger hearts. There is nothing Misty Harbor's residents like more than celebrating tradition, but sometimes it takes an outsider to help them embrace their future. . .At the same time his younger brother is preparing for his wedding, Matthew Porter sees his own future come crumbling down. For years, the burly outdoorsman has wanted two things: to have a family and to buy and renovate Misty Harbor's abandoned lighthouse. But now a major hotel chain has made a substantial offer for the lighthouse, and just when things seem bleak, he meets Sierra Morley. The daughter of the hotel chain's owner, Sierra has brought her son on a working vacation to Misty Harbor. The last thing she expects is to fall in love with the sweet Maine town just as it is–and with Matthew Porter. Soulful, gentle, and wonderful with kids, he's the sort of man she's been dreaming of. But once he knows who she is, will he still feel the same way about her? Matthew thought Sierra was just another summer tourist, not a woman who could steal his dream. But now that she's captured his heart, how could he possibly imagine letting her go. . .

2023 bk 74. Ah - the last Porter son meets his match in a tourist -Sierra who comes with a small child. This is one of the few romance novels that so effectively uses toddlers to promote romance between two individuals. Tension - well there was that. Matt doesn't realize that Sierra is representing the hotel business interested in the property that he has dreamed of owning. Matt is worried that she will 'lovehim and leave him" at the end of her vacation. Along the way we meet Gordon the bookstore/tobacco shop's mystery past, learn the gender of Olivia and Ethan's child and attend a wonderful wedding.

It's always nice to revisit Misty Harbor. This series just has sweet love stories and as with most books, there are two romances to follow.

Local Matt is falling for visitor Sierra and her son Austin. Of course he doesn't know she is scouting for a hotel chain that just might buy his dream piece of property. Then Juliet is visiting Gordon, whom she just found out is her father. While they bond, she also falls for a local.

I'm sad that this is the last book from this author that my library carries, but it was my favorite. I really liked the story.
