In 1994, Brenda Jackson’s first novel, Tonight and Forever, was released. Since then she has had more than 100 novels and novellas published (the first African-American author to accomplish such a feat) and has over 3 million books in print.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda is the first African-American author to have a book published by Harlequin Desire and the first African-American romance author to make the New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller lists within the series romance genre.
In 2012, Brenda received the Romance Writers of America’s Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award—one of the highest literary awards a romance author can receive. In 2013, she was recognized by the mayor and the city of Jacksonville as being a Trailblazer in the literary field.
In 2010, she collaborated with Five Alive Films to turn her Truly Everlasting title into a feature film. Brenda’s 2011 novel A Silken Thread is scheduled to be filmed with Debbie Allen attached as director in 2015.

This is Beyoncé’s fault! I’VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH ALL THINGS, COWBOY AND COUNTRY DUE TO RENAISSANCE ACT TWO: COWBOY CARTER!🤠
Much as I love, Brenda Jackson, this book is very forgettable. It just didn’t have the same sensuality, swoon, and stakes that her books normally have. Decent, but not great. And the Texas cattlemen mystery wasn’t that interesting either.
"I need you, Alli." -- Mark Hartman, desperate new dad. Did Mark mean what (administrative assistant) Alison Lind hoped? Was her boss declaring his passion for her? Did he really feel the same way she secretly felt for him? Apparently not. Turned out that what Alison wanted and what Mark needed were two different things. Instead of asking her to be his lover, he was asking her to be (temporary nanny) to his baby niece Erika. Not an ounce of desire in sight. Or was there? Living together, spending time in intimate surroundings, created a sensual tension too powerful to ignore. How long before this strictly business relationship turned into a strictly passionate predicament?
Ms. Jackson does well in this collaborative effort...looking forward to the remainder of the series
I love Brenda Jackson's story. The problem with the Silhouette Desire is their too short and usually a continuation of someone else's idea. So, unless you read the whole series you might miss out on something or you might not get the whole idea behind the series. However, I enjoyed the heated tension between Alli and Mark. Once they were under his roof together it was like they couldn't stop the electric currents they kept passing to one another. As my headline says, it was short and sweet romance.
Good, passionate, fun & quick read. The passion between the characters was great but ended too abruptly as the mystery part wasn't solved (guessed at, but not actually solved).
Free book a friend let me read & will be passing into someone else...
Wish there was an order or something so know how the 1910 diary fit in
Brenda Jackson has written many wonderful books. My favorites are books among the Westmoreland Series and the Steele Series. Those are books to revisit/reread. Strictly Confidential did not read in the style I appreciate as Brenda Jackson.
