I purchased with some money I was given for Christmas last year. Although I prefer reading the King James Version for when I am just reading the Bible, when I am studying the Bible, I like having the Amplified version available. It is almost like using another form of a study bible, as it sometimes helps to open up scripture to a person with a more modern vocabulary. I am not very open to modern versions of the Bible but I have been satisfied with the Amplified, especially in the Parallel Bible format. This format allows the user to view both texts side by side which allows a better interpretation.
This particular edition, leather bound, is a very well made book. I love the soft leather covers, they are flexible and very easy to hold, especially when studying for longer periods of time.

It's always good to get different perspectives on the Holy Scriptures, and this is excellent. It's not a criticism when I say, especially for the Psalms, I prefer the New King James version.

I just recently purchased this Bible. I really love that it has the KJV and Amplified side by side. If you are teaching a Bible Study, or for personal study, it can help having the Amplified version available to compare.

I have been amazed at how this Bible helps me understand the meaning of Scriptures. Having the Greek and Hebrew translations amplified is amazing, and with the King James Version side by side with the Amplified Bible, this Bible is a treasure! It is one of my favorite books ever!!!
