Outstanding memoirs: elegant, intellligent, waspish, insightful, and a lot of fun for the most part. (The section about Jenkins' time as president of the European Commission makes it clear he didn't enjoy it). You don't get much about his personal life but he clearly sees himself as a man of power and an author of repute, and reading this you understand why.
