This is a reproduction of the original artefact. Generally these books are created from careful scans of the original. This allows us to preserve the book accurately and present it in the way the author intended. Who remembers Will Carleton? Maybe if your from Michigan you might know of him, but other than that, he's a forgotten poet whose reputation has been in mothballs for several generations. This one is typical - those mid-western poets like James Whitcomb Riley and Carleton could crank out verses endlessly, it seems - I picked it up because the cover is so gorgeous. A Decorative Designers beauty of a snow-bound train in twilight blue. A skimmer of a book, I'm afraid.
