Who remembers Will Carleton? Maybe if your from Michigan you might know of him, but other than that, he's a forgotten poet whose reputation has been in mothballs for several generations. This one is typical - those mid-western poets like James Whitcomb Riley and Carleton could crank out verses endlessly, it seems - I picked it up because the cover is so gorgeous. A Decorative Designers beauty of a snow-bound train in twilight blue. A skimmer of a book, I'm afraid.
