An account of the life, empire building, market managing, and power brokerage of the giant cosmetic firm's single-minded founder and presiding genius, with interviews with those who call him genius and those who call him worse
Red this in my youth and really enjoyed reading it again. What a great life to have created such an iconic brand. Highly recommend to anyone interested in a great American story
Read this book many years ago, the man accomplished a lot. I enjoy biographies of enterprising people. Revlon cosmetics sure were popular for a while, nothing lasts. It was exclusive, only sold in upscale shops back then but that eventually changed. Revlon used to run the most fabulous ads when introducing a new color of lipstick, Fire and Ice was one of the most famous. Very entertaining book.
Charles Revson was a self-made man, but he was a crass, orgy-loving, nearly illiterate bully! I will never purchase another Revlon product or by-product ever again!! What an asshole he was!
