In 1993, Sonic the Hedgehog sped his way from video games to comic books. Hundreds of isues later, "the blue blur" can lay claim to having the most successful comic book career of all video game heroes! Now you can enjoy his earliest comic book adventures with this special edition that reprint his first, difficult-to-find mini-series, Sonic #0 through #3. Collected together for the first time are the first appearance of Tails, Princess Sally, Antoine, Rotor, Uncle Chuck and Muttski. Put on your sneakers, grab a chilidog and see where the legend began!
The start of the legendary long-running comic series. This will appeal to two people: children and fans of the comic who want to read everything for completion's sake. Can't really recommend it on its own merits.
Reading the Metroid manga got me in a video game comic mood, and since there's nothing more to read for Metroid, I thought I'd go back to a childhood classic, Sonic the Hedgehog! Growing up, I used to collect the Sonic Super Digests from the grocery store every month, so I consumed the Sonic comics in a very non linear, and confusing fashion, but I ate those things up all the same. I loved the characters and the stories, but I never actually got the entire lore from start to finish. And so I begin my quest. 400+ issues of the blue blur. And it all starts here.
This book Is GREAT for Begginers cause it explains how the friends met up and how Eggman Robots were made and they were made by Eggman putting real animals inside of the inside of the Robot and then they must obey Eggman and Amy which is Sonics friend is Very Emotional by this Amy is a very Caring character and has a crush on sonic Knuckles is The Ruff guy the one who loves to Fight his Enemy’s Tails is the Scincetist and is Sonics best friend.
Sadly, this is the only one of these collections I own. :( I wish it wasn't the case. Someday... I will get my hands on that wretched hedgehog!!!! haha But in all seriousness, I grew up reading this comic. I still have so many of my singles issues that are SO well loved. Sonic SATAM team will ALWAYS be my favorite. However, if you haven't read any of the newer IDW stuff, you should! It's A LOT of fun.
It's fine. I read this book when I was young and into Sonic, so I wouldn't enjoy it as much now. I remember being horrified at the robotization of the creatures, and that made Sonic's goal of defeating Robotnik more compelling.
l'ho trovato solo dopo aver letto i primi due volumi di archie e se devo essere sincera ho preferito questi capitoli a quei due volumi. è stato carino vedere come sonic si è unito ai freedom fighters portando sally tra le braccia.
I got these more for the nostalgia then the story. I prefer the storyline farther down the line when it starts getting a bit darker and more serious. Still this is a good volume. It's small and compact enough that I'll be able to keep collecting them without them taking up too much space on my bookshelf.
Imagine a longer styled Sunday comic based on the Sonic universe and you get the basic idea behind volume 0. Cute and funny but I am dying to get to the later volumes when everything starts to flesh out and get a bit darker in tone.
