Rate this book
The average life of an ordinary man is dependent on his health and well- being, but the life of a man with a broken heart is destined by love. Heartless is the second novel by Saroeurn Soeun. It is a story of a once ordinary man, loving and strong. However, one Christmas Eve night changes his life forever as a young drunken teenage fool rips the very life-line from Samuel's heart and immediately halts his life. He blames everyone else for his misfortunes and slowly watches as his entire life crumbles beneath him. He loses touch with his little girl. He locks himself in an unrealistic world with unrealistic perceptions because he cannot bear to live without his precious angel. Meanwhile, his little girl tries to stay patient and strong for the both of them. As he begins to loosen the chains of misery, his daughter begins to face hardships of her own. This story teaches us to live our lives everyday as if they were our last, because one day we may wake-up and everything we love might be washed away right before our very own eyes.
