By far the most amazing book I've ever read. I'd give it 10/5 stars if I could. Emily Dickinson is incredibly fascinating and this book did an excellent job at giving me the tools to further understand her work.
I'm not entirely certain as to why this was such a page turner for me... maybe it can be chalked up to feminine specific mysticism?
A very cohesive and informative analysis of the reoccurring themes in Emily Dickinson’s work. I’ve been trying to read more poetry and wanted to get a better feel of Emily’s in particular — this was not only incredibly helpful but also really interesting to read. It’s not very long either so in a sense it’s kind of like a “crash course.” i would recommend it to anyone interested in this specific subject matter regardless of prior knowledge.
I am reading her book of poetry and needed some background on this famous poet, so my brilliant friend recommended this book. So very helpful in understanding and interpreting her poetry! I didn't understand everything in this book, but it definitely gave me some important tools for reading her poems.
