This book is a sweet -- although at times TOO sweet -- reminder of what is important in life. It is also a good book to read on the day your third-grade son has a meltdown and screams that he doesn't like you anymore.

This is just a sweet little coffee table, quick-read type book (this book was given to me as a gift). But the thoughts did help/give me little, gentle reminders to reflect on as I parent. I will keep it on my shelf to flip through again in the future.

I really enjoyed the book. A small and quick read. Something I will keep as a reminder as a parent

It was a little cheesy at times, but here are some of my favorites:

A son needs a mom who understands that what he needs from her changes as he grows older, who leads him toward his talents and passions, who is never more than a phone call away.

A son needs a mom to teach him how to take care of himself.

A son needs a mom to be his first dance partner, to show him what it means to love unconditionally, to fill his childhood with love and affection.

A son needs a mom whose arms, heart, and mind are always open, who knows how to have fun, who never tires of his hugs and kisses.

A son needs a mom who will always make sure he has a home to come back to.

(I guess this last one is for moms who plan on letting their sons leave at some point. It doesn't apply to me since I have no intention of ever letting him leave :)

Judy gave me this book for Christmas. I cry whenever I read it so this might take me a while to get through :)

Cute coffee table book. Some great reminders, "to help prepare him for being a father" and "who will let him go when he is ready to marry" both speaking volumes to me right now and wishing we were back at "to protect him until he is old enough to protect himself". Letting go isn't as easy as I used to think it would be : )

I keep this on my nightstand so that I can look through it occasionally and remember the little things I could be doing.

Line per line, I blinked to keep off the tears. Motherhood did this to me.
