I wanted to really like this book. I grabbed this book on impulse from the library, as I’ve had a great experience with Visual Quickstart books in the past. I dove into this book, wanting to learn a lot from it and give it a glowing review. However, I came out pretty disappointed. As I was reading through the book, I was basically finding one issue after another. I tried to read through the entire book to give it a chance, but I couldn’t care enough to reach the final chapters.
For more of my review, including the list of the major issues explained, please check it out on my blog: The Mind of Molly.
A concise look at WordPress that's good for complete beginners. Full of relevant examples for people who want to manage a WordPress site and do a little bit of customization. I'm interested in creating WordPress themes, but that is not the focus of this book. Themes are discussed, but not in-depth.
Good intro book to the world of Wordpress for beginners, maybe a little too basic if you're looking to develop Wordpress themes, which I plan to do next!
This will be good for anyone that isn't very computer savvy. I do alright on them and this was mostly a waste of my time. It goes from very beginner-type stuff like 'how to create an account'.
