Law professor Myles Eaton knows a lot can happen in ten years. A decade ago, Philadelphia's finest bachelor was a hotshot attorney engaged to a woman he swore he'd love forever—until she left him to marry a powerful politician. The only thing more difficult than forgiving her has been forgetting the searing heat they shared. And just when Myles is sure he's over her, Zabrina Cooper arrives back in his life.
Nothing could stop Zabrina from loving Myles, not even when she was blackmailed into becoming wife—in name only—to another man. And as her secrets are revealed, Zabrina has one summer to convince Myles that beyond their incredible chemistry is a soul-deep bond that never faded.

this was all over the place...definitely focused on the romance part and everything else mystery/crime/secret baby part is just a plot device to make this a second chance romance book... I liked the beginning and the premise but the execution of the story is lacking.. one-dimensional character( hero) is very disappointing to read..
Cute story of a rekindled romance of the Eaton son Myles and his first girlfriend Zabrina.....Myles was in attendance to his sister’s wedding and that was the catalyst to bring he and Zabrina back together again.
Myles Eaton and Zabrina Cooper feel in love and were engaged to be married, but two weeks before the wedding she was blackmailed and had to marry someone else to save her father's life. She meets Myles again at his sister's wedding and the sparks are still alive, so what'll happen the second time around. This is the second book in the Eaton Series and I enjoyed it, but the ending seem rushed.
Made it all the way through chapter 2 and stopped. I'm not saying the book is bad but I don't like the plot. Do you honestly think I would marry some random guy so my dad won't go to jail? Bs I would be visiting my dad in jail!
A sweet story, yet I found Zabrina's way of thinking - ten years later - a bit off putting. Myles, the lovely male lead, protrayed consistency and strength.
It’s just enough interest to keep your attention. There was unnecessary information given, which was weird. The plot was doubtful but I bit regrettably.
I really enjoyed this book. Is it slightly problematic at times in an old school way, yes- especially in dealings with masculinity and gender (not AT ALL in the sense of intolerance- but in a “girls like girl toys and boys like boy toys” kind of way that I know some people have no tolerance for that. If that’s you, this isn’t your book). That said, this book was entertaining as all get out! I couldn’t stop listening. The performance was entertaining (minor issues with mispronunciation and minor errors with editing it nothing super distracting and the narrator has a really good voice for reading), the story was soap opera dramatic but never ridiculous, I was yelling at the characters and just often wondering at their actions, but I was captivated. I usually only listen to audiobooks as I do chores or get ready in the morning but this one had me listening as an alternative to reading on my Kindle.
The premise is that 10 years ago, nurse, Zabrina jilted lawyer, Miles, 2 weeks to their wedding for no apparent good reason, and compounded things by getting married to someone else the week of their planned wedding. Now 10 years later they meet again as she tries to repair her relationship with his sister, who was her former best friend, and the feelings that existed before are still there. The question is whether forgiveness and reconciliation is possible when Zabrina is still keeping secrets of the past.
I love this author’s books and specifically this series (The Eatons). They are delightfully old school, but also sexy and entertaining. I recommend them if you’re not easily offended or super modern. This has secret baby elements to it and so if that isn’t for you and if it’s a trope you find bothersome. You may want to skip this one.
Another thing that is hit or miss in this book that I think people will love or hate is how much the author loves / knows about design. It gets super detailed into design elements of interiors or even of an engagement ring. I was personally ambivalent and didn’t mind either way but be aware that it does go into some unnecessary detail describing interior design if you’re not super into interiors.
Overall m, I loved this book and found it difficult to put down even though I didn’t always agree with the characters actions or the way certain things we conveyed, I think this author is fabulously entertaining and I’m excited to read more in this series.
The title of this book lives up to the name. Miles and Zabrina are childhood sweethearts who were planning on getting married when a corrupt politician comes in and changes everything. Under the impression that her father was a theift and the corrupt politican threatening to end her fathers life if she didn't marry him ruined their lives together. After being with Thomas Cooper 10 years he dies from a boating accident leaving Zabrina a widow and a single mother to a ten year old boy named Adam. Soon after she runs into her childhood friend Belinda and invites her to her wedding. She is confronted with the feelings she still had for her childhood friend brother. Soon they find themselves trying to at a crossroad of denying the truth to themselves that they still love each other. Even after it being 10 years, married with a son believed to be Thomas Cooper Myles still loved Zabrina like he did the day she walked out his life . Zabrina also still loves him she just don't know how to explain the past 10 years anthe facts Adam is Myles son and not Thmoas son. In my opinion I think it just may be the author however I feel like some of the emtions are rushed and aren't realistic. While other emotions are dramatic and drawn out. Like for example how quickly Myles got over the fact he had a 10 year old son out there and another man was raising it. And an example of emotions being drawn out is Zabrina being so cold to Myles when even though he didn't do anything he just wanted to make up for the 10 years she life him. All in all I liked this Eaton story better than the first one.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
ok it's now 7/31 and I have no idea why I didn't review this book - I also have no idea what I'd rate it now ...
I think ... ugh - is it really a spoiler when... but
I wasn't mad I read this book - I think I liked the one before this one too - but ... Obviously I don't remember major chunks. :X Not sure if I'd re-read it - definitely it wouldn't be one of my go tos ... but I also wouldn't avoid it so there is that.
Myles and Zabrina were side characters in the first book, but now they get a shot at their own happy ending.
Zabrina broke off her engagement with Myles a week before their wedding and married someone else, with no explanation. A decade later, they are thrown together again for a second chance at their happily ever after.
This book is a testament to how secrets can alter your life. However, I was happy that the truth came to light, almost shed a tear, but loved this read.
The second book in The Eatons series, a family of educators. Myles Eaton was an attorney engaged to Zabrina Cooper. Right before they were to be married, she called him to say that she was in love with another man and couldn't marry him. Now, ten years later, Myles is home for his sister's wedding (her story is told in the book Bittersweet Love) and Zabrina is now a widow. Will they rekindle their romance once she tells him the truth about why she called off their wedding?
I'm ENJOYING the Eaton series...the journey to discover if Myles and Zabrina will recapture their love is SIMPLY wonderful...Myles is a strong, loving, protective and EXTREMELY forgiving man...and Zabrina is a VERY lucky lady...looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Zabrina Mixon & Myles Eaton are soulmates. with 1 week til they're married, Zabrina's life is turned upside down. while pregnant with Myles son, Zabrina is blackmailed into marrying an upcoming politician to save her father from being murdered for what he witnessed.
