Well, that was intense! My heart was racing from the beginning to the end. I honestly wish there had been a fourth book in this series about Shaley’s life after all of this. Hopefully not suspenseful, though. Just a calm life for the poor girl! I am glad that in this final book there wasn’t a lot of sexual content or mentions…that stalker was wacko enough! Definitely not a series for everybody.

This is the final volume of the Rayne tour, and while I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first two, I really appreciated the overall hopeful message.

I thought the chapters following Shaley were the best and she was really resourceful in how she dealt with the kidnapping. I didn’t like the sections following Shaley’s best friend added much to the plot. She really doesn’t do much in the series as a whole.

It reminded me a bit of an episode of Criminal Minds with the swat team and FBI searching for Shaley.

Third Time's The Charm!

Book one was hard to read. It didn't grip me, hard to keep the pages turning. Book two was much better, but still not great. I'm not even sure why I finished book one let alone moving on to book two except that I'm stubborn that way. Once I start something, I rarely quit. I'm not saying these book were horrible. DEFINITELY NOT!! Just not on par with Collins' other books. Having said that, book three, Final Touch, was really good. It's hard to know what I would do in Shaley's position because something like that has never happened to me. Sometimes I thought, "That was a stupid move, Shaley!" But I'd have to think that if probably not keep it together nearly as well as Shaley did! This book did keep me on my toes somewhat, enough to keep the pages turning. It's still not on par with Collins' other books, however. I do have to say that I think that's because it's co-authored. That brought the skill level of the book down several notches, although by book three, it was much better than book one. I do not wish to shine a negative light on the co-author. I think she has tremendous talent that will get better every time she writes. Overall, this series was ok. I'd recommend it, but caution the readers that book one isn't nearly as good as book two and three, and to allow leeway for the fact that this is a co-authored series and thus not to compare it with Brandilyn Collins' other book like I did. My mindset would have been much better going into this series had I realized that one fact.

FINAL TOUCH was exceptional! The third book in The Rayne Tour series picks up where LAST BREATH left off. Shaley O’Connor is experiencing the best day of her life as she counts down the minutes to her parents wedding. A day long in the waiting, Shaley has finally been given the chance to know her estranged father, and her mother has once again fallen in love with the only man in her life. All too soon, Shaley’s perfect day turns into a nightmare. Abducted by a crazed stalker, Shaley is whisked away and held captive by a man that wants her to live with him as his wife in the new world he is going to create for himself. Shaley’s spunk and determination are tested when she realizes her captor’s plan has been well thought out. Having only a thread of hope remaining, she prays her parents find the clues she’s left behind.

FINAL TOUCH was a book I could not put down! Finishing in less than eight hours, the suspense in the book captivated my entire though process preventing me from getting anything else done the day I delved into it. Brandilyn and Amberly make a great team. All the suspense of Brandilyn’s other novels, but with the voice of a teenager as the main character, giving the book a fresh feel to it. Though some feel bringing in the voice of a SWAT team member was unnecessary, I couldn’t help but think . . . spin off series??? Great job ladies. I can’t wait for your next collaborative project.

Nail biting and pretty intense. Serious kidnapper, and horrible consequences if things aren’t handled well.
Not largely enjoyable, pretty much awful situation from start to finish. In that regard, well written.
I wasn’t connected to the characters anyway as I didn’t read the first two books properly.
It was short, and written well for the length.

Final Touch by Brandilyn & Amberly Collins is the final book in the Rayne Tour series. Shaley O'Conner is on the brink of having all her dreams come true. Her parents are finally going to be married after years of forced separation. Moments before the wedding, Shaley is kidnapped by a strange man insisting that she will become his wife and form a new colony of Christians in a remote area, far away from the terribly influence of rock music, like what her mother Rayne, sings. Her parents are forced to play a waiting game, following the advice of the FBI and making television appearances in hopes of someone finding their daughter, while Shaley travels from state to state with a madman who thinks he is doing the will of God. Shaley is a bright, strong heroine in the previous books, and she only gets better here. Her attempts to leave behind evidence to leave a trail for her rescuers to follow as well as working to earn her kidnapper's trust makes for incredible tension. Rayne and the rest of the crew from the previous novels are mostly bystanders, as this novel is all about Shaley trusting in God to carry her through. I didn't feel it was as strong as the first two in the series, but it's a quick read with plenty of suspense and faith.

This is a fun and adventurous little book! I read this all in one day – wrapped up with Shaley’s adventures from page one! This is the third book in “The Rayne Tour” series, but is fine as a stand-alone title (at least I thought so, as I haven’t read the first two yet, and jumped just fine into this one!)

Shaley’s abductor was certainly a wacko! After he’d nabbed her and told her his plans, I confess I’d be freaked out if I was in her shoes. But Shaley wasn’t – and this wasn’t because she acted like some super-girl. She was portrayed as any normal girl, but with inner strength from the Lord, she was able to overcome her trails.

One character I really liked was Randy, a member of the SWAT team on the chase of Shaley’s abductor. He just seemed so real and personal, as he tried to rescue a girl he’d never met – yet wanted to protect. He reminded me of my father, a lot!

To sum it all up, Brandiyln and Amberly make a great team for this series! I need to try to get my hands on their other books in the series! Shaley’s story in this book, Final Touch, was engaging and left me wanting more!

Thanks to Zondervan for giving me this book to review!!

Review by Jill Williamson

It’s wedding day for Rayne O’Connor and Shaley’s father, Gary Donovon. Shaley couldn’t be happier. She has longed for this day all her life. But minutes before the ceremony begins, Shaley is kidnapped! She tries to do all she can to leave a trail, in hopes that the police will find her, but Shaley’s kidnapper is always one step ahead. Will Shaley’s life as she knows it end forever?

Just when we thought it was happily ever after for the O’Connor family! Here is every mother’s nightmare in book form! Shaley is taken by a man who intends to keep her! This whole thing reminded me of the Elizabeth Smart story. I was terrified for Shaley and thrilled with how wise she was about trying to leave a trail of evidence. This book plugs right along and you won’t be able to put it down until the end! Well done, Brandilyn and Amberly! Highly recommended.

The end to Last Breath was kind of mysterious so I decided to go on reading to this thrilling novel. Right before Gary and Rayne were about to say “I do” all of a sudden Shaley ends up missing. As time flies and moves forward descending; the FBI and Swat team get wrapped up in it keep their eye on everything possible. Every clue of what happened to her, why it happened, and when they were going to find her. I found out that in the past there was the stalker who is determined to achieve Shaley as his wife also to purify her soul. He sounds kind of a little crazy to me. The kidnapper was under overwhelming pressure and a gunshot goes off. Was it the end of her or a new beginning? The book was awesome and I can’t wait for another series to come out like it. I wouldn’t change anything about the book. It’s practically flawless :D

My daughter and I have been waiting for this book! Third in a YA suspense series, we couldn't wait to see where this book was going to take us. My daughter snatched it up as soon as I opened it and I had to wait my turn... it was worth it! This book starts about a year after the last one ended and there is going to be a wedding, except there is a kidnapping instead and then a cross country chase and close calls and excitement and I read it in one sitting! So good! This whole series is just a great intro into the thrilling world of suspense for YA. I highly recommend all three of them.

I love, love, love books by Brandilyn Collins.
Each one is fantastic and this one was superb.
This book is book three in The Rayne Tour series.
I didn't get to read the first three, but still this made a
great stand alone book.
The daughter (Shaley) of the famous singer Rayne O' Connor gets
kidnapped. It is quite a fantastic way how they get getting clues and
how Shaley herself helps to give the FBI and police clues.
I really loved this book and so would you.
I highly recommend it and will be keeping my copy.

It was such an easy read, clearly a teen reader book. Having said that, I still enjoyed the story. There was suspense, heightened by going back and forth between characters in each chapter. This is the 3rd book in the series. I hadn't read the first two, but that wasn't a disadvantage when reading this one. I didn't get so caught up in the characters that I feel the need to read the first two books. This one was pretty decent, I won't be reading the first two though.

i won this book from goodreads. I have to say this was a very nice book. I liked how it was wrote and how the parts melded into one another. I never got lost in the book which i have before in some books trying to figure out who was talking and everything. I also liked how the chapters were marked so it helped you determine who was talking in that chapter or who the chapter was about. I liked the message in the book or the one i got out of it about never giving up.

This trilogy, though listed as Junior Fiction, would be enjoyable for any age. This series has it all...murder, who-done-it, kidnapping, famous star...it keeps you on the edge of your seat guessing what may happen and then surprises you. A quick read, but good!!
