About the author

After earning a degree in journalism from Ohio University, Sharon found the stories inside her head were more interesting than what was going on in the world around her. Yet, it wasn’t until years later that she decided to pursue her secret dream of writing a romance novel. Since then she’s been published in romantic suspense, paranormal romance and contemporary romance and historical romance.

Sharon’s other job descriptions include chauffer, laundress, cook and mediator to her three very busy kids, her husband and two dogs. She lives in southwest Ohio with her brood although her dream is to someday retire to St. Maarten and live on the beach.

Kate McAuley and Lucas Barone were once an item but Lucas left without a word. Now, he has shown up at her doorstep, bleeding and unconscious. This has many of the elements I enjoy. Not a "perfect" read but worked for me.

I tried this book because it was free on the Kindle, and I'd never read a romance, and was a little curious about what is was all about. I don't think I'll ever be a rabid romance fan, but I think most woman enjoy a little love story once in a while. So I enjoyed it. It was short, sweet, simply satisfying, and left me ready to jump back into a dark, gritty fantasy :)

I liked this story about reunited lovers, but I'm actually more intrigued by some of the secondary characters. Some of the events were just a little too fantastical to be believed, but I can overlook it in fiction. I'd read another book in the series. B- rating.

This book had a lot of promise. The first 3/4 of it was exciting and suspenseful but the ending was so awful it ruined the whole thing. It was like the author got tired of writing and rushed through the climax.
