Genre: Traditional Literature-Fairy Tale
Awards: None.
Audience: Grades 2-4.

A) Geppetto was sad because he had no family. Pinocchio was a happy wooden boy. The policeman was mean. The puppet master was angry. The cat and the fox were scary. The blue lady /fairy was straight forward.
B) The other version of this story I am familiar with is the one by Carlo Collodi. It was published in the 1880s as an animated book on the adventures of Pinocchio and Geppetto.
C) I would use this version rather than the original, because the original version was somewhat harsh and cruel. This version is much lighter.
D) Why didn't Pinocchio want his nose to be large? Because he would feel sad and insecure.
