Recounts the case of handsome young playboy Jed Ardito, who strangled his beautiful Brooklyn girlfriend to death in an erotic frenzy and whose mother had her own lover murdered nearly two decades before. Original.
A tragic story for the families involved, but this telling of it was repetitive. It seems like there wasn't enough detail in the story to fill a required length, so it was padded out by inserting details from tangentially related stories and other cases. Probably would have been better suited as a long form investigative article rather than a full length book.
It’s a sad tale of murders and betrayal. Nature or nurture? Details not so graphic you want to barf, but graphic enough you get the picture in your mind. I would have given it more stars, but it was choppy and at times redundant. Narrator was okay, but I’ve heard better. Could have had more inflection in tone. Not terrible though, considering the piece of literature he was reading .
A pair of gruesome cases of love vengeance one after the other - mother murders boyfriend and spends life in prison, her son kills his girlfriend, gets 25 years. Interesting mainly for the changes in the ways such cases are researched and prosecuted.
Even though this appears to be just another salacious true crime book (which it is) it’s also kind of a hidden gem. It’s an interesting case with some kind of cool legal bits.
The fascinating and fast-moving story of a New York family that produced two killers many years apart. This journey includes lots of interesting side trips.
