Quite intriguing, this story of a part-time History lecturer, who is infatuated with a young woman who has a strange connection to Vortigen, a mythological 5th century British hero, as well as a colleague, an expert on myth and legend who impacts his life in unusual ways, is gripping early on with a menacing edge, particularly relating to his young daughter, but the later move to magic/myth and the familial circumstances involving his successful wife for me doesn’t match the initial promise. Still, an entertaining read.
