I read this when I was 14, again at 17 I honestly believe it changed my outlook on life.
It was in the 'library' corner, in the detention room at my boarding school, I took it, and read great swathes of it at night, sat on the toilet (where the staff left the light on) shivering and smoking skinny 'grave robbed' roll ups and ignoring the enthusiastic grunts of endless and seemingley furious masturbators in the next cubicle.
Oh my halcyon salad days.
